Must have...

As in an interproperty shuttle?

Yeah...that would make sense...it eliminates more rentals and property bleed.

But it would have to be cheap, non tipped, and flat fee to be effective...and I'm sure they'd overprice it.
Yeah something like that. Its a survey that has been going around for a month or two now.

I got my wires crossed after reading the previous rant...i thought it was magical express...

This does interest me...but I don't know. The meals are already so overpriced...I'm sure they figure $20 to go from the poly to wilderness lodge is "no big deal"...but the cumulative effect is starting to wear thin even on we frequent offenders.

Uhh, "starting"?! I think it passed that point about three or more years ago.

We also got the resort-to-resort transportation survey after our June trip to WDW. I was adamant that I would NEVER pay Disney for this service. I am traveling from resort to resort in order to spend money (at lounges, restaurants, and gift shops). If anything, Disney should offer this service for free in order to promote spending. Disney is just looking to capitalize where they see another company making money from a service their guests require but Disney itself is failing to provide. I'm not normally one to cry "money grab" but this is absurd that Disney wants MORE money from me for a service it should be providing gratis anyway.

And, while it's a bit off topic, every Uber driver I've had at WDW has been a current or former CM.

An excellent point - however, it would be extremely cumbersome for them to have a transportation system that transports people from every resort to every other resort - so I understand why they don't have it. While you are correct in that you do it to spend money - the cost versus the amount of money they make would be silly.

What we do right now is use a taxi. (I haven't tried Uber yet.) With a taxi it's rarely more than $15 to do this transfer from resort to resort. We use it maybe twice a trip. If Disney institutes this service, then charges an arm and a leg for it, we are not very likely to use it. While they might be able to ban Uber drivers, they are unlikely to start banning taxi cabs.

That was kinda tongue in cheek...I was commenting on the further erosion of theme at Epcot.

You're from the 'Burgh...I know you get sarcasm ;)

Epcot is the most unique amusement gate ever built...it was a monumental feat and they barely pulled it off with much more meager resources at the time...

To turn it into another magic kingdom...which will make 3 in 4 miles after studios is gutted...is very disappointing. My opinion is it shouldn't be embraced.
Yeah - I'll agree with that. It's sad to see Epcot basically lose its way. Unfortunately I think I'm so addicted to "The World" that I'll keep coming back back no matter what. Hard to break the addiction.

And that's...what I always talk/worry about...

Does the camel's back have to break before we become more selective/critical.

Very few people are "dying" for new ip attractions in Epcot...they just want quality new things...

But Iger won't have it...that would take more thought and committment without "cheap" profits to point to...which is too much for that two bit tv jockey to grasp.

I would be extremely disappointed if Uber is not allowed on Disney property. If Disney started their own service it would be poorly ran. I almost always use ubers to get around between parks and resorts. The bus system at Disney is terrible and slow. From room to park, it would take me 10-15 minutes to get there with Uber while with a bus it is way longer for Animal Kingdom it can be an hour or longer. For $10 a ride, it is worth it. If Disney ran it, it would be expensive and they just can't get rid of taxis

I used to be that same way. Then I slowed down. Found that I enjoy it even more at a relaxed pace. I used to miss so much because I was in a hurry. Now, I enjoy the slow bus ride sitting next to the young couple from France or the old couple from Iowa.

We have also slowed our Disney-touring pace....first few trips were commando style, but now we hit rope drop, do AM touring, then head back for R&R at the resort, heading back to dinner at another resort or in the parks. The only time we have needed a taxi was to go off property. I like riding the buses, as it's part of the whole experience...of course, we are not carrying sleeping children or lugging strollers, so it's much easier for us.

Yeah, our last kid will graduate from graduate school (last 9 years we have had 1,2, or 3 kids in college at the same time) next May. Taking the whole family (including my first new granddaughter that will be 14 mo.) on a trip to the World. The kids may revert to our old fast pace, run, run, run mentality, but the wife and I will know what suits us. We actually probably spend more time on our park days in the parks than what we used too because we don't tire out going 100 miles an hour. We just have learned to see 1/2 of WS at Epcot in one day, take the boat back to FW and then the next day do the opposite side. Likewise for MK. Left side of hub one day, right side of hub the next. Thorough without hurry.

I agree - the bus ride is part of the experience. I only really get annoyed at the system when the wait for the bus is extensive (say more than 20 minutes), otherwise it's part of the experience. We've met a lot of really nice people on the bus!

I would like to have a Disney bus at home to put the little granddaughter to sleep. It always worked for her mother years ago. It was like she refused to go to sleep till that bus got here! Then, out like a lamp when they turned the lights off.

That's OK Logic, we all know you wouldn't jump to any negative conclusions..:tigger::goofy:

Of course I would...don't put that on me!!!

but this was simple confusion when someone said "I'm not paying for that...I already do"...for inter hotel transfers. Which were never provided and nobody ever paid for...

Yeah, the inter hotel transfer thing is once again driven by time management. We usually just use the existing transportation with time built in. However, if we do oversleep, forget about the time, mis judge our itinerary or anything, then just hailing a cab is easy and gets us from point A to point B. Expecting Disney to cover every move and do it for nothing is like expecting the government to file your taxes for you, and remember every deduction.
