News Round Up 2016

Call it corporate fluff if you want, but I absolutely love these ''making of'' documentaries. I love seeing how everything's made, and at the end of the day that's how Walt would sell his idea of a theme park. I'm still waiting for the Imagineering documentary Leslie Iwerks was working on.
Yeah I am wondering the status of the Iwerks film.

What am I missing? Can't you just call Uber yourself when needed instead of paying for a length of stay pass?

I'm guessing that if they consider doing this Disney would find a way to ban Uber & Lyft from its properties. Why compete when you can use the golden rule (those with the gold make the rules)

How is it that Walt & Co. can get a full park done in 1 year * (back in 1954) & now with technology and (know how) ,it takes 3-5 years to do/build 1 thing...:confused3

It's very confusing:confused:,but more so VERY FRUSTRATING:furious:.....

A. I think building is more complex now. Both in design and because of building codes.
B. there is no rush now. Disney wasn't making any money on a construction site. Now they are still making money in the parks while other parts are being worked on.
C. Walt's dead.

Yes I agree 100% with all three

I'm too agree with A and B, but I've heard some rumors from Jim Hill on another site that makes me question the accuracy of C. The rumor is that Walt himself may be re-released in 2018 to align with the opening of Star Wars land.

Awesome...officially

...in blu Ray 3D combo pack?

PSA: go see Petes Dragon! It's a great film and doesn't deserve to flop. No it's not the animated original but I don't think it should be compared to that because it's so different. I really enjoyed the film.

We are going this afternoon, since we were out of town last weekend. I really loved the original, so I actually hope it is a different story. Going to see Kubo next weekend.

I realize this..It was sort of a rhetorical question....

... Might cause me to START skipping it.
You might start skipping Epcot because...they added a roller coaster? Even if not interested in the coaster, it will pull tons of people away into line and make other lines shorter. I don't think anybody will force you to go on it. I guess I just figured removal of Ellen's Energy snoozefest wouldn't be a dealbreaker for anybody. Not sure I see the "logic" here from you Mr. lockedoutlogic. (haha, that's punny!)

That was kinda tongue in cheek...I was commenting on the further erosion of theme at Epcot.

You're from the 'Burgh...I know you get sarcasm ;)

Epcot is the most unique amusement gate ever built...it was a monumental feat and they barely pulled it off with much more meager resources at the time...

To turn it into another magic kingdom...which will make 3 in 4 miles after studios is gutted...is very disappointing. My opinion is it shouldn't be embraced.

We also got the resort-to-resort transportation survey after our June trip to WDW. I was adamant that I would NEVER pay Disney for this service. I am traveling from resort to resort in order to spend money (at lounges, restaurants, and gift shops). If anything, Disney should offer this service for free in order to promote spending. Disney is just looking to capitalize where they see another company making money from a service their guests require but Disney itself is failing to provide. I'm not normally one to cry "money grab" but this is absurd that Disney wants MORE money from me for a service it should be providing gratis anyway.

And, while it's a bit off topic, every Uber driver I've had at WDW has been a current or former CM.

Huh??? Wait a minute...what are they hinting at charging for?
