News Round Up 2016

I disagree. I think most parents that come back have their feelings matched, cause now their children are riding those rides. It is nothing like seeing your loved one experiencing and enjoying the same thing you did as a kid. Few expect the ride to be what it was to them when they were a kid, in fact some come in with lower expectations and are surprised how much they still enjoy it. Sure there is people that don't feel that way, but those people aren't the ones that Disney is targeting and winning over and over again.

I agree with this - as long as maintenance is kept up. It is a negative if the ride breaks down or needs paining, etc.

Because ultimately...there isn't a damn thing they can do about it and operate the place the way they need to to make the money they must...

Disney parks are 50% psychology...minimum.

So why is casing DS the big story? You keep side stepping that one.

First they should have no screening or the terrorists have won. Then its because they are not good enough at it. Then its because it will look bad to potential guests.

Yet right now there are metal detectors, bag screening and armed police out front. Do you want a tank to? And likely already was effective in keeping a major attack somewhere else.

Of course terrorism can reduce guests. But not doing anything makes an in park attack much easier and more likely. Then they will really loose money.

There are other threads on this lets not bring that here please.

Well, there's still quite a lot of people out there who claim the Yeti used to move ;) My point is, it is dissapointing going back to Disney after a long time and finding out that a significant portion of the effects and pieces at Pirates of the Caribbean (or any other ride) are not working anymore. I do get your point and I agree, but as it's been said countless times, Disney is not a museum, and nostalgia shouldn't justify stagnation.

It's like the old joke that you don't have to be able to outrun the bear, you just have to be able to outrun the guy next to you.

Disney doesn't need to make it 100% foolproof - just make it good enough to discourage attack.

Notice most attacks are against places with very little defense. Most lone gunman like the easy way. Schools / Movie Theaters / Nightclubs. Places with lots of people and little security.

Hi!
Do you think late october 2016 will be part of free dining later in the year?

It's very unlikely that free dining will expand beyond the current dates. Mid to late October is extremely popular nowadays with food and wine and the Halloween stuff, plus a lot of southern schools have long weekend breaks around that time.

Schools in Wisconsin have a long break at the end of October as well. I agree that it's highly unlikely.
