Kenny the pirate - changes coming on how FP+ will be booked

http://www.kennythepirate.com/2016/05/17/change-coming-to-fastpass-booking/

Not thrilled with this, since my upcoming FP+ is now Sunday morning at 6am:( However, maybe fewer people are willing to wake up early as opposed to those willing to stay up a little later. It might make getting FP+ easier for those who are willing wake up. Who am I kidding though? I am usually still up at 11pm and then up before 6am, at least on weekdays:sad2:

Seems like around 8am would have kept it fair for people in all US time zones. Still crazy early on west coast but still allows EST people to book early in the day. Getting up at 4am is pretty inhuman. Much worse than staying up until midnight IMO.

Ugh!

As a night owl on the west coast, I already despise the middle of the night bookings for uber-popular dining reservations, and 5 am bookings for 7-month DVC reservations. I felt like at least with fast pass, they threw us a bone!

:badpc:

Oh no. This sounds wrong and makes me think we're going the wrong way.

These things never work out and are a waste of time, money and resources. And they don't even fit in the Star Wars story. Triple double boo.
Yeah, my first response after reading the story is also negative. It kind of takes me out of the SW universe if now everyone can use the force.

Based on the article it just sounds like Disney's answer to the wands at Harry Potter. If the article is correct, there will probably be "Microsoft Kinect-esque" readers that will cause the "whatever" to do "whatever" when the proper body motion is made.

Then the bigger "Force Opportunities" will be just like the Sword in the Stone. I don't know much about the Star Wars lore, but it sounds like this could actually be a cool little "plus" like the Sword in the Stone.

Does anyone know if they even still have a "Knight of the Day" or whatever it was called when a kid pulled the sword from the stone?

While I kind of agree I think they are going for a Potter type experience. The guy in charge of Star Wars worked on Hogsmeade before coming to Disney.
