Disney Infinity had big plans for 4.0 but that was shut down of course.

Disneyland Shanghai will make its opening. The media event which Jim was invited to is 95% Chinese media and 5% western media. Everything for the press is completely scheduled the media is not allowed to roam freely they must stay on the schedule. Phase 2 is in the works for Shanghai.

Frozen Ever After is a dialogue driven ride which isn't how the boat ride was originally built. This is causing delays. Timing issues are the problem. Might slide to later this summer. Royal Sommerhaus will open on time.

These tunnels.... I'm so excited and happy to hear they're still happening! I'm assuming I'll actually spend time at Disney springs in these and the Edison.

Wow - this is the first time I've ever seen a Jim Hill update that I actually believed everything he said could be correct. However, wasn't there dialog in the Maelstrom ride? It was mostly "God" voiceover though I think, so actual character dialog could certainly cause difficulties on the timing of the boats. However, it seems they had that figured out in the eighties for Splash Mountain, didn't they?

Wow - this is the first time I've ever seen a Jim Hill update that I actually believed everything he said could be correct. However, wasn't there dialog in the Maelstrom ride? It was mostly "God" voiceover though I think, so actual character dialog could certainly cause difficulties on the timing of the boats. However, it seems they had that figured out in the eighties for Splash Mountain, didn't they?

It's a timing thing. Maelstrom did have dialogue but Disney made the dialogue a 3 minute spiel which means you never necessarily heard the same thing every single ride. This is actual character dialogue that they want everyone to hear every time they ride.

Wow - THREE rooms? There must still be HUGE demands at the existing M&G. Admittedly the M&G are the some of the lowest capacity attractions - I think they typically consider it to only be about 200 guests per hour for a M&G. I wander if things ever slow down if they would add a second character M&G....

I agree - you can get a lot more reliable information from just about anybody. I have never seen him right on anything except things others have said on message boards. I haven't been following him an incredible long time (well I don't follow him at all...just take note of the times I have read rteetz's updates, and I have come to realize he isn't really all that great of an insider if an insider at all

Any detail as to what the "big plans" for 4.0 were? Nothing urks me more than when something gets canned, then the production people come out and say, "It was going to be the most amazing thing ever, but now we'll never see it." without saying what their "amazing" thing was going to be.

There was an article from someone else I posted a couple days ago that outlined some of the plans. I remember it saying things about Rogue One being added, 12 inch characters, and Moana characters.
