News Round Up 2016

Only difference though (or at least could be) is what they limit the number of tickets for. I've read a lot of reports of parties being super crowded now and ridiculous lines for meeting characters. people used to love the parties due to the lower crowds there and chance to meet rare characters. So if this allows that, then I bet people will pay the $149 for it (basically, it is a VIP party) ... but if the actual parties stay crowded and don't provide this exclusiveness / limited tickets then people then I don't think people would pay $149 for that

The parties started out being "limited". They've since sold closer to park capacity. What makes you think they wouldn't change the limited nature of this?

I can see them eliminating morning extra magic hours. The evening ones are a nice perk, and if anything are under used at parts of the year. Perhaps the thought is a little more throughput on those slow period emh's

My last two trips were RunDisney related and I didn't use EMH once on either trip. They either didn't line up with the days I was in those parks or I had to get to bed for a race.

1. Duh
2. Duh but phase 2? What phase 2?
3. I think Disney would be much harder to hurt than seaworld or ringling bros. Plus Disney holding elephants is no different than any zoo in the country.
He said that phase 2 is a "nighttime lighting package" that needs to wait until after construction on the physical land is complete to begin working on it, so maybe Pandora Daytime opens on Earth Day and Pandora Nighttime opens within six months...?

Given that ROL and extended hours are arriving within the next month, I can't fathom they would open Pandora without it being prepared for nighttime visitors.

I can't quite fathom that they would open up the park for night time hours without having Pandora so...

Not that I fully doubt the report, but putting "Disney has just announced..." into a post with no link to an actual announcement or anything is weird. I would expect something more like "sources are saying Disney will soon introduce".

Yeah I was wondering the same thing. So far today I saw someone saying it was mentioned on Twitter. Then Kenny the pirate added it to his page. And now this announcement. All claim its official but no one seems to have a source.

My concern is they close everything early on these "paid nights". Pay up, go with the masses to the Springs or sit in hotel room. Yikes!

I see them balancing it out. EMH for on site guests, extra hour parties during busy times when they can get enough to buy, keep the DVC parties going to encourage DVC ownership, and extend Halloween and Christmas parties to fill Sept - Dec.

Not much different than the Pirate and Princess parties. Now THOSE were worth every penny! Great fireworks. Characters. No lines. Ahhhh....

Hey, was it here I read about disney chefs being told to decrease the quality of the foods they were using and decrease the portion sizes in order to cut costs !?!??

Is this from a source somewhere? I hope it's an exaggeration or speculation.

Also, paid EMH totally fit in line with where Disney have been going. Also nips that whole too crowded thing.

Disappointing. Probably something that comes and goes.

Pretty sure it's only been reported by spirit. Im holding out judgement till I see it for myself. It could be true but it's also nearly impossible to verify.

From Spirit on wdwmagic.

Spirit says that Shanghai will likely be sold as the most visited Disney park even above MK because that's how the Chinese government wants it. Even if it's not a success and not well visited they are going to say it is. He also said earlier in the thread that Disney has told TEA to make the Disneyland resort numbers lower than they are.

Can't remember where the removal of FP+ points was discussed. We only saw 2 FP+ points on Space Mountain and TOT. We also used FP+ on Star Tours, RNRC, FOTLK, BMTRR, 7DMT, Test Track, Spaceship Earth, Turtle Talk:sad2:, Pooh, Tea Cups, Speedway, EE, Safari, and TSMM. These only had one point being used. Lots of delays and confusion at a lot of the FP+ points. More than I remember seeing previously.
