News Round Up 2016

He is the only one saying this will open on phases though. And the boat ride and flying banshee ride buildings are connected.

At one point there was a lot of talk that the Boat Ride would come online later than the Banshee ride. That's not what Disney have been saying mind you.

Perhaps he's clinging to an older version of the rumor.

Interesting .....

Guests buy a ticket and get access to Magic Kingdom for three hours after park close, including select attractions and meet & greets.

Tickets go on sale April 6th for select dates in April and May only.

Dates of the events are April 14th, 21st, 28th, and May 5th, 8th, 12th, & 19th. Tickets are $149 plus tax each for children or adults.

At that price, we imagine space is very, very limited and lines should be almost non-existent.

No word yet on if that price includes the rest of your day in the park or not.

BWAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Sure non-existent lines!

I will absolutely book one if those late nights of it includes rare characters, I'm thinking like the dvc party that just happened.

I think that's what he is doing. I am not buying the two phases thing right now.

Wow Disney even gets criticism when they make donations. That's just sad. So many people here taking away from what used to be a good thread

-shrugs- You're entitled to your opinion as I am to mine. I just highly doubt that the tax write off had nothing to do with the doubling of that donation. Like I said in my original post, it's great that they did it, but it doesn't excuse all the other crap they've been pulling.

Yeah but they got those amazing fireworks. If it includes those and rare characters ..... might be worth it.

This paid late night thing worries me. Makes me think EMH are an endangered species, or that they'll be invaded by off site guests.

Losing EMH would potentially push me offsite, and likely would result in fewer visits.
EMH going away has been one of those rumors that pops up every year. It might finally be happening.

Interesting that it only goes up to May 19th (first night of our upcoming short trip). Magic Kingdom has evening EMH from 11-1am the night before. The next night HS has 10-midnight EMHs, and no evening MK EMHs at all on 19/20/21.

I'm a huge rare character fan, so characters alone would make me buy. Fireworks would just be icing on the cake.

Though, knowing Disney, it will probably just be regular characters and nothing extra.

I'll be curious ... if true .... how many tickets they will sell. That would be critical point for character lines.

On the $149 for 3 extra hours at the MK. I would possibly pay that to see very rare characters. I was at WDW in late February and a week later they had the 25th anniversary night at MK and they had Launchpad McQuack and Darkwing Duck appear. I would totally pay a little extra to see them. But that is me being irrational.

I will but it just depends if there are 'extras' that aren't regularly available. If there is nothing extra I'm not doing it.

Regardless of extras, buying a ticket you're doing 2 things:

1) Making WDW question the value of providing EMH gratis for resort guests.
2) Making WDW think that $149 will surely fly for MNSSHP and MVMCP since those are 5 hours with added entertainment (with up to 8 total hours park time).

Where is LOL to warn us against going along with ridiculous price increases?

Sounds very much like the old "E-ride nights" - which I have stated many times was the best money I ever spent at WDW. Except back then (late 90s - early 00s) it was $10-$15 per person, and you had to be an onsite guest.

Only difference though (or at least could be) is what they limit the number of tickets for. I've read a lot of reports of parties being super crowded now and ridiculous lines for meeting characters. people used to love the parties due to the lower crowds there and chance to meet rare characters. So if this allows that, then I bet people will pay the $149 for it (basically, it is a VIP party) ... but if the actual parties stay crowded and don't provide this exclusiveness / limited tickets then people then I don't think people would pay $149 for that
