News Round Up 2016

Not hard, but probably moderately expensive. But let's ask a different question. When have Disney relocated a ride?

And that doesn't resolve the fact that the "story" and jumbled timelines in Star Tours won't remotely fit with what is supposed to be a highly themed and cohesive environment.

Didn't they once move Carrousel of Progress? Also Iasw from New York

Just got back from Zootopia. I don't know if it's the best since the lion king but it is very good. I think lion king still has the edge because of the music. Zootopia has a very good message though and is well animated. I think this just continues the next Disney animated Renaissance.

Universal Japan confirms Nintendo costing 350 million. Just for perspective Diagon alley cost them around 245 million.

I'd suggest caution. This project information may be entirely accurate, but it does not appear to be confirmed by Universal Japan, Comcast, or Nintendo at this time.

I'd keep your eyes on these sites over the next couple days because announcement is supposed to be forthcoming:

So nothing definite. Though here's food for thought from Nintendo:
"Furthermore, our endeavors will not be limited to video games. We are planning to offer new attractions at theme parks by using Nintendo characters. We will also strive to further increase opportunities for consumers to come in contact with Nintendo characters in their daily lives, such as through visual content and merchandising."

Speaking of our favorite Japanese Theme Park Operators...

Followup News from Threads Long Gone
An Oriental Land Company subsidiary has just made a deal with NTT Urban Development Corporation and Tokyo Land Corporation to proceed with a large hotel project in Okinawa. Okinawa, if you'll recall, is the island that wants Disney and OLC or Universal Japan and Comcast (or all of them) to build a theme park Resort development.

This is probably the closest we'll ever see to a new OLC Resort on Okinawa.

40+ years ago. I don't think we can use that as a barometer of what the company would do now.

Um...the carousel of progress occupied a spot somewhere under where Arthur Ashe stadium is now...

They've never picked up an existing attraction and moved it 75 feet one direction or another...it's not like moving a picture on a wall.

Shhh. Before anyone else says something you should add the disclaimer you aren't talking about spinners like Astro orbiter or dumbo. ;)
