News Round Up 2016

I don't think the memory maker is faring too well...my guess is it's use is in steep decline.
Well, i wonder if it could partly be due to the fact that the photographers take so many "freebies" with the guests' cameras. It sometimes irks me to have to wait in the line behind a whole lot of folks who just want the photo using their phone, after I've paid for the service. Maybe it's just me though.

I was never a fan...and NOT because Disney was doing it...I just can remember several nicer, more natural displays for the public dating back to the 80's...near Pittsburgh

I wouldn't have thought it would be my style because I usually DON'T like over the top light displays - but Osborne lights were so far beyond over the top that they came around the circle and drove back to awesome.

That's true and I can see that ... especially if they have data that more people are doing that/less paying for the service.

Maybe they could do at popular location (like on Main St) some PP photographers are only for people that have paid and others will do the "freebie"

Last trip when we were meeting Anna and Elsa the people in front of us just had the CM take a picture with their iPhone and then we went up to meet Elsa and they came back saying the picture wasn't good enough and wanted more taken - that kind of annoyed me especially knowing I paid and this was free for them

They only sent back the stuff they originally bought from the Osbornes. They added a TON more that that once they put it in HS.
Yes but pretty much all of the large metal framing was from the Osbornes. The actual lights weren't and actually are a lot of times thrown away at the end of the year due to how much use they get. If they did a new light display it wouldn't look like the Osborne display.

No...its smartphone technology and common sense...

You have full capability in your pocket...why dump hundreds of dollars to Disney for the same thing? That's silly.

And if you want to know what REALLY drives up the lines? It's the autograph books.

We had never used photo pass until a trip last year with a big family group. It was nice to be able to get photo's with everyone in the shot vs always missing someone that was taking the picture.

Agreed...those lights were replaced 10x over...and the billion dollar operation never liked the "cost" of lights...

That's the likely reason they canned the lights in Epcot

I get that...but what's the investment/return typically with really expensive pictures?

I'm always open to movies/shows that tie into the parks. I hope this show takes off an replaces Once Upon A Time. Honestly that show is just becoming a chore to watch.
I still like OUAT I mean sure it was better earlier on but it could be worse.
