2027 Member Cruise

I’ve decided 2027 isn’t out year… too hard to get out to California for it…

Hoping the 2028 cruise is back in Florida… tough to justify going with the kids all the way to California right now…

Really want to sail on the Wonder before she is put out to pasture in a few years…
This is why it's good that they rotate destinations, lol. We're much happier going to CA (though we're on the East Coast) or Europe for the MCs because we've already sailed the Caribbean so much. Hopefully you make it on the Wonder at some point

2028 will be an international departure.

They are alternating between US and International departures for the for seeable future with US departures in odd years and international departures in even years.

How can you be sure? 2024 and 2026 have been in Europe (which has made me happy), but that alone isn't indicative. Maybe you have extra insight?

I just checked no point chart yet. https://disneyvacationclub.disney.go.com/member-cruise-2027

This cruise could be our first DVC member cruise. Getting nervous that the price will be too high.
It will be higher than the sailing normally would cost for sure. They lose the revenue from the concierge rooms they set aside for the VIPs that do the presentations: Don Hahn and the character voices of Mickey, Minnie, Goofy are staples; we've also had Tony Baxter, Leslie Iwerks, and people like that talk about their careers or park history; maybe someone from Pixar or Disney Animation; and they always have several Disney on Broadway stars like Susan Egan (also Meg from Hercules) who put on musical performances in the main theater. All of those folks get put up in concierge and get paid for being onboard. Plus the daily gifts and extras, and gratuities (which are included in the fare). All of that is paid for by the members who book the cruise. So definitely don't expect it to be on part with a similar sailing.

7 nighters are tough. Even without needing airfare for this one..I’m priced out for free gifty gifts.

Maybe the phone lines won't be so clogged up on Saturday, lol. Who knows, since the Wonder is small maybe there will still be enough people who will want to do it and perhaps it'll sell out quickly. But rn I'm thinking it won't sell out so fast.

That’s at $2k more than we were planning on paying for cat 5A, B or C. Not sure now if we want to spend that much or do two other cruises or a longer one.

I think we're still going to go for it. Anything else we might choose to do instead might be less expensive but the airfare would be more so it probably wouldn't make a big difference. And we were so excited to do this.

We've been on member cruises before and, as big Disney nerds, have enjoyed them. So we're going to try to book as well. This will be the most expensive member cruise we've done, though--I suspect it's because on a smaller ship, fewer rooms are sharing the cost of the extra entertainment. I think we'll bite the bullet and hope it's worth it, then re-assess for next time. I just wish full payment wasn't due upfront, lol.
