News Round Up 2016

Couldn't they also just paint a realistic looking treeline onto the building, or is that a dumb idea I just had?

I am sure they will do something - though can't just paint it as you can see the air conditioning units, etc. on the roof

Was just something that stood out to me as I know Disney is usually really good about hiding show buildings (heck, they have the MK Train go through a tunnel just so you can't see the Pirates of the Caribbean show building)

It will probably get painted "Go Away Green" and then they'll eventually grow trees in front of it.

They might just leave it, who knows.

I think Pandora will be ready for the summer. The project is already over budget and they have to move the crews to Star Wars land if they want to get that on time as well. It's true that a full park and a land are different, but still, if you look at Shanghai just a few months before opening date, you'd think they'd delay the opening date. Plus, the decrease in attendance will probably put some pressure on them to get it done.

That is taking shape rather quickly. This is going to be really exciting to follow, especially with so many places to see the progress from.

Permits were filed to expand the Yacht Club convention center. Expires August 31st, 2017.

I'll be honest. I don't think Disney cares if the buildings appear visible from outside the park. Not just Everest, but carsland from the back (or even California screamin') show the back of those buildings. I also don't find this an issue. They shouldn't be visible in the park, and that's fine.

Rumor

With the official announcement for the closure of sum of all thrills plans for Epcot are moving forward. We could be talking an Epcot 3.0 if all goes well.

I think maybe I missed some news or announcement when I was at WDW last week ... not following how this could lead to major upgrades at Epcot. (Please enlighten me.)

(Sum of All Thrills is the build your own coaster simulator in an Innoventions building, right? If so, I've never done it myself, but my 9 year old nephew and brother-in-law tried it and weren't all that impressed.)
