Similar to the Disneyland AP thing they just started?
I'm not sure, haven't even heard about it. Do you have any info/link on it?

Here is how the two new lands in DHS will be thanks to the one and only Martin Smith.

I see at the top of the photo that some form of Streets is remaining. Not sure if that's just there to show the positioning relative to the current park we know or if it will be incorporated some way. If so.. Here comes the Os Lights rumors.

It actually looks like most/all of SOA could have remained if they really wanted to. But yes, that entire main strip certainly could have. It also looks like the HISTK Playground could have remained. It's a shame, but they gave the lights back so they obviously have no plans to bring them back. I'm just hoping for something similar one day. They were easily my favorite thing in all of WDW and a huge part of what turned into a Disney fan in my trip in 2012, first time back since I was a kid. We came back 2 more years during that time specifically for them, including last year to say goodbye.

Yet you are the one that thinks screening is completely unnecessary, and more of it would be living in fear and giving in to the terrorists and they have won?

You can bet it would have been a Wishes massacre without it, how would we be responding to that? Look at loosing one child, not to diminish a horrible tragedy-but try a couple hundred inside the park.

I think screening In Orlando by Mickey cops armed with flashlights and $9 an hour is "ineffecfive"...not "unnecessary"

Big difference.

I also think I don't want to live in fear...I don't want to have increased paramilitary style states...I think I'd take my chances.

But that's just me.

Yep same, FP+ and DVC additions alone have massively improved our trips to Orlando. Much more flexible, relaxing and efficient now.

You really love that tiered fastpass in Epcot, eh?

Can't put a value on the convenience of a figment fast pass...

My thoughts on Finding Dory...

Very good movie. Not as good as the original which it I didn't expect it to be but very good. It's not quite a exact remake of the first one with dory. They incorporate the new characters very well.

I loved the new Pixar short at the beginning. Those never really fail to be good.

Also if you haven't seen it yet and are planning on it. Stay all the way to the end of the credits you will get a nice surprise especially if you liked the first film.

So basically you subscribe to the idea that "It's extremely unlikely to ever happen to me personally or anyone I care about, and I'd rather myself and thousands of people there every day be be minorly inconvenienced."? I see where you are coming from, and selfishly I agree somewhat. I know it's unlikely to happen to me and long security lines could be a pain. But I think it happening to ANYONE there, is just as bad as it happening to me or someone I know. So for that, I am willing to go through a minor inconvenience as long as it doesn't encroach on my freedoms.

This is a great review that makes me very excited without giving too much away. I've only been disapointed in one Pixar short and it was the last one, but I can't remember what it was. But the Volcano one and PaperMan and Feast were all fantastic.

I wouldn't say it's the best of the Pixar shorts but it's good. It goes through your emotions in a matter of a couple minutes since that's how long the short it. Finding dory will also go through your emotions.

I suspect @lockedoutlogic feels the security is ineffective and probably wouldn't stop anything anyway, as opposed to the probability being too low to bother with security. I don't know what they are doing now, so it's hard for me to comment. I know what they were doing in March was fairly worthless. I don't know if they really can do a job that would be effective enough to stop/prevent something like the club shooting. However, I believe the ship has sailed in Orlando. We had better just accept whatever they end up doing or not go to the parks.

It was a very powerful vigil.

Not only did Disney have a moment of silence on Main Street, they lit the castle, and allowed Emporium CMs into the hub in costume.

It started as an unofficial event, and it's amazing how Disney joined in on it.
Disney also handed out heart and Mickey pins to guests according to Twitter.

I suspect we're receiving a lot better protection from the security we don't see than the stuff we do see.

I hope that we don't start the "security is inadequate/unnecessary" shouting match again. We've been pretty good lately about discussing differing opinions without all the negativity. Arguing about this is pretty pointless, as it is there now and it's not going away, weather you agree or not. If you don't want to go through screening or if you don't agree with or like what is changing, for whatever reason, then there are other vacation spots that might appeal to you more. Vote with your $$ rather than grumbling..

I was going to post something similar. There is EXTENSIVE security that is less obvious than the bag checks. I won't go into it all, but suffice it to say the bag checks are about 20% of the security. Admittedly what is done would do little to prevent a hand-gun from slipping through - but serious weapons would be difficult to get through the bag check alone.

The concern I think should be Disney Springs. There is virtually no security there - and if you read the articles, THIS is where the Orlando shooter was scouting, NOT the parks. It would be a much harder area to secure, as there are multiple entrances.

I pretty much agree with you - very good movie but maybe not as good as the original. It just feels a little more slight - many the weight of searching for a missing child is heavier than missing parents. However, for the first 20-30 minutes I was feeling like "man this really is the same movie all over again" until they got to the aquarium and then it started feeling like it's own thing. Many of the new characters were great...particularly Destiny and Bailey I really loved even though there roles were fairly small.

The short was amazing - again. I really so much wish Pixar would cut back on the sequels. I mean they've been good but other than the Toy Story ones they really haven't held up to the originals, and movies like Up, WALL-E and Inside Out are so much better. The next 3 years we have to put up for 3 more sequels and only one original. That said - The Good Dinosaur was actually bad, so I'd rather get "Finding Dory" than that. Oh...and PIXAR I am totally OK with the Incredibles sequel.
