any news on when its going to happen this year...last year they sprung it on us without notice

Undercover Tourist posted on their blog that a price increase was "around the corner"....so the rumor is that they, as a vendor, have received notice that it will be happening, but no actual date has been discussed in the rumor.

I would say, though, that if you are planning on buying tickets, now would be a wise time to get it done. It's not like they're going to go down in price or anything, lol. They don't expire (until you start using them) so if you have the money on hand, I'd buy them and keep them somewhere safe until your next trip. Worst case if no price increase in February you're still ahead of the game with not having to worry about missing the notice.....last year I think it was less than 24 hours notice. In years past we had a couple days. This year, who knows.

1) Price increases are usually know FOR CERTAIN on the Friday prior to Sunday's release.
2) That is when all the new collaterals (pamphlets, displays, countertop price mats) come in.
3) WDW does not want to announce anything in advance.
4) People would buy the older and lesser priced tickets.
5) Thus, WDW would loss revenue.
6) Guests may not like it, but it does make sound business sense.

If I remember correctly last year no one knew ahead of time and they just did it??

My problem is renewing out annual passes we can't until Feb 19th....wonder if there is a way around that..

I plan to get the tickets for other family members this weekend....
