The Disney Club web site has info. regarding the new Disney Visa. The card will be available beginning on March 4th.

Be the first for a Disney first. For the first time in history, there is a credit card that will offer Disney Dream Reward Dollars on your Disney's Visa Card purchases. Disney's Visa Credit Card from Bank One is coming March 4 and Disney is reserving a special application website and phone number just for you. If you apply by visiting www.disneysecret.com or by call 800-688-4868 between March 4 and March 24 and provide secret passcode *****, your card will reflect that you're one of the first first with the words Cardmember since "Day 1" embossed right on the front! Plus you'll receive an exclusive "Day 1" commemorative pin after you've made your first purchase.

Disney's Visa Card will also offer many other magical benefits to all Cardmembers. You can earn reward dollars on card purchases, and your reward dollars can be redemed for practically any Disney purchase - from merchansie at Disney Stores and theme parks to Disney vacation packages and much more. And if you or your travel agency book a Walt Disney Travel Co. package using your Disney Visa Card, you'll receive a special promotional interest rate for six months.

How many do you think will apply? I have already registered on their web site.

Before I read all about it, does it say you will automatically be switched to Disney Visa if you are a Disney Credit Card holder?

There is nothing on the site that mentions anything about the Disney Credit Card. I am assuming that the Disney Credit Card will be discontinued. There is also nothing about the interest rate for the new Visa mentioned either (it just says a low rate).

Atleast there is no annual fee...i've signed up as well. Hopefully around the 4th of March they will give more info on this card

What is the secret code??? Can someone PLEASE PM me with it. I would love to sign up but it asks for the code? Help!

Thanks so much I really appreciate it!

Emmy

We just registered!!!!

Thanks so much for the info. We've been waiting very impatiently to get more information on the card.

Just entered the site and signed up for the card info. I hope its a good reward card.

Emme,

The secret password is any one that you make up yourself! I just typed in something random, and clicked, and there was the registration page. Just remember what you typed in for the password!:teeth:

That's great news, My DW is Branch Manager at Bank One and she hasn't heard of a start up date yet, if you are near Racine, Wisconsin stop in at Mt. Pleasant branch (#997) and let her get credit for the new Application. We will be sending it in as soon as possible and hope it arrive before we leave for WDW on March 18th for a 10 day stay at WLV to celebrate my 50th Birthday

I knew this would happen ... its only for US residents :(

This is simply a registration process to be notified on March 4th that you can sign up for the card between 3/4 and 3/24 to be eligible for the "Member since Day 1" designation.

If you go in through the Disney Club site, you will get directly to the registration page without having to enter the "secret" code.

I just called them and asked if Canadians could apply and they said no. Just thought the Canadians on the boards would like to know.

And how many dollars to you have to "spend" to receive rewards? And how many "rewards" equal $2 worth of merchandise?

Thought it was a bad idea before and still think it's a bad idea.

Remember the old Green Stamp days? You had to have like 250,000 to get a one dollar rubber spatuala..

Have they actually listed the $$ = rewards = merchandise or are they just luring people in with hype?

I suppose I could check out the web site, but I'm not interested in it and therefore too lazy.. LOL :)

Hope it works out well for those of you who did sign up though! :)

And most importantly...what's the interest rate?????????

C. Ann, my guess is that it'll have to be a decent deal in order to get folks to sign up. There are a lot of people that have rewards cards. They really do pay off, but only if you carry no balance, since interest will off-set any gain you may get from the card. And now since just about every establishment makes paying by credit card so easy, it's amazing how much you can spend. Groceries, gasoline, movie tickets, books, every department store, pharmacy, everywhere. It's really a no-brainer. These are purchases that you always make and using a reward card costs you absolutely nothing.

I'm likely to dump the "air miles" in favor of this card since I travel by air on my own nickel only once a year.

Now, if the reward is in the form of percent off on lodging... In other words, build up 50,000 points and earn 25% off lodging at a WDW resort, then forget it. I do better with Florida Resident and Annual Pass discounts. But, if it gets you dollar value certificates to spend in parks or stores, count me in!

Seems I read on another thread though that folks were being asked to sign up and NO specifics were being revealed about $$ = rewards = merchandise.. One of those deals where you get "full information enclosed in your membership package"..

I NEVER sign up for anything like that because I figure if they can't give me the info AHEAD of time then it's pretty much a sure thing that it's not worth my money..

If anyone DOES have the specifics, could you please post it here?

Again, I hope all who HAVE signed up though have the best of luck with it! :)

Like was previously mentioned... Your NOT signing up for the actual card. Your only signing up to be notified by e-mail on or around March 4th to be one of the first to sign up for the card.

Here is the info straight from the web site...minus a few things you'll have to go to the site to find out.

Be the first for a Disney first

Hope this helps clarify things!!

Thanks for that info - although it still doesn't explain the need for all of this "secrecy".. To me that's a major red flag - but I'll be waiting anxiously to hear if they offer something worthwhile or merely the one dollar spatula for $500 worth of charges..

Kind of reminds me of the time my brother-in-law went to the bank and when he approached the teller she announced in a chirpy voice - smiling ear from ear - "If you open an account with us today and deposit a minimum of $500, we'll give you a free electric blanket!!"

To which my BIL replied, "Tell you what - if I run home and get the electric blanket off my bed and give it to YOU, will you give ME $500????"

The guy is hysterical - always has a funny comment about everything.. Even the teller was nearly falling on the floor laughing.. :)

Can't wait to hear what the rewards are! Will be great if they're reasonable and of use to all the DISers here.. :)

I think the whole secrecy thing is just marketing...create a "buzz" get people feeling like they're in on something special. I'm going to check it out!
