NEWS: DVC cuts sales associates' base pay

A couple of years ago the guys at the Boardwalk model were watching football. "Just let us know if you have any questions" they said. No brochures or anything.

As a rule they just hand out. My experience has been that they often let you walk up and look at the info provided. They may ask if you have any questions. If I were supervising them I wouldn't tell them to hawk to everyone as they go by but I would do several things they have not done consistently. One is I would put up a bolding sign just in front of the booth with a VERY brief explanation of what's DVC is about and a statement to talk ask if you want more info. Something colorful, catchy but not too wordy. Then I'd have the CM actively talk about DVC to anyone that comes in to look around rather than holding back. I'd require they do so in a professional and non threatening manner but I'd have the CM initiate the conversation and bring up the idea of a timeshare and a tour. Then if they showed interest, I'd have them cont, if they didn't or said "just looking", I'd have them step back or move to someone else with a statement to "let me know if I can answer any questions or you decide you want to see what DVC is about". I'd have them leave a card with their name and a contact number with them. The truth is I've seen DVC do all of these things in one way or another just not consistently, most of the suggestions only rarely to almost never.
