We are going to wdw 12/24-12/29/06 using the dining plan for the first time(we are dvc members since 1994 and vets of many vacations). We planned a late christmas breakfast at 1900PF for 10:30am and did not plan a Christmas dinner when we made adr's. We did this because we were not sure if we would want to stay out of parks as we did last year. Just to be on the safe side, I got on swan/dolphin website and made a reservation @ Palio for 8:30pm (love being able to do this online!)that night since we have dvc discount there(they honored it at Artist Point last year even though it was a holiday). They just email me back saying that most likely Palio would be undergoing construction and would be closed, but they would notify us when it was finalized.

My family loves Palio and we ate there on or last 2 visits, Jan and May. Our trip before that in October our waiter, who has worked there since the rest. opened told us they were changing it in the near future. We asked on our last 2 visits and both times we were told it would be a celebrity rest. and they hinted at Mario Batali. I am very sorry to see them change. We think that Palio is a gem.

I really hate to see it go also. It is a great restaurant with the ability to get a good meal at the last minute..so to speak-even during holiday times. Too bad.
