Hey, wonder if anyone's got some opinions/ideas on this. Found out daughter will be getting engaged soon (with BF for many years).....would like to have something special ready to give her/them. I know I can/should pick up Brides or the Know magazines....maybe champagne glasses.....any other ideas from your experience. TIA. Can't wait to start the planning~!

Some wedding magazines, ring cleaner, a bottle of bubbly and glasses to celebrate!

How about putting together a pretty bridal gift basket with a planner, bride books, champagne, glasses, jewelry, etc.

Congratulations!!!:yay:

A bottle of champagne, wedding magazines, and maybe a gift certificate to a good photographer for engagement photos? A lot of people use photos for save the date stuff now.

OHH thanks so much. I love the basket idea. Will try and get some of those things to fill it!! Any more filler ideas welcome...

I give everyone I know the charming tales engagement mouse. So cute. Also chicken soup for the brides soul.

Congrats in advance! When DH and I got engaged, my mom gave me a beautiful crystal ring holder for my dresser. I love it and still use it daily.

When I was engaged, my mom's friend gave me a little gift basket like the ones previous posters have mentioned. In it, she included a package of tissues and some waterproof mascara--because she said there were bound to be lots of tears (joyous, sentimental, frustration, etc.) in the upcoming months (she was right! :thumbsup2)

My MIL gave my wife a wedding magazine, chicken soup for the brides soul, and a ring holder from her grandmother. (The ring holder was her favorite) My FIL gave me a non-refundable, no return or exchanges receipt. (No Joke, an actual printed receipt with his signature)

When my DSis got engaged I gave her a ring binder with dividers in and marked them for her, Dress, Cake, Flowers, Venue, Menu, Photo's etc some Bridal Magazines, some heart shaped post it notes and a couple of funky pens for her. She thought it was adorable.

Martha Stewart wedding is great too! I found it helpful. A giftcard to a local nail salon she likes because once she has that ring, people are bound to ask to see it. Her nails need to look equally fantastic.

Love all the ideas and good thoughts!! Getting my act together and put together a basket of some sorts. Don't want to overwhelm her at the beginning with tooo much LOL!!

DD and her husband were disagreeing (playfully) about something Sunday. Her husband turned to look at my husband, and DH shook his head and said, "Don't look at me. She's yours now!"

A wedding planner book - that's what I surprised mine with and she loved it. One good one is The Knot Ultimate Wedding Planner: Worksheets, Checklists, Etiquette, Calendars, and Answers to Frequently Asked Questions
I know Amazon sells it for $12 - $15.

I know you said you have your basket ready, but I want to second this. DD loved The Knot and got lots of ideas there so I'm sure their guide is great. :thumbsup2
