Newest "Moms to Be" Thread

I had another ultrasound today and got to have a 3d one!! It was amazing!! They gave me some great pics, too.

Another PSA...for getting checked if you're having any kind of contrations. I was rear ended at abou 27 weeks w/my DS 2, from then on, I was in and out of the hospital every couple of weeks and I have to have a shot to stop the contractions. Not fun....they wouldn't stop on their own. At one point, they almost took me early and said if it happened once more, we'd just do the csection...well I lasted until my scheduled date at that point.

Oh no Patsy, your poor dog! I would be very worried too if I came home to that. That's just not normal. Are you going to take him to the vet and have him checked out?

I don't blame you for not being able to clean it up though. While pregnant, other people and/or animal's vomit/poop is a no go for me. My gag reflex is way to sensitive for that.

Hope everything works out for you though and that your dog is okay!

Oh lordy... I don't think I can handle any bad smell before pregnancy let alone during. Your poor dog and poor you... When is DH coming home? Maybe he can handle the clean up while you take your puppy to the vet.

Well, the Vet was the plan until...

I found an empty pound-size bag of Valentine's M&Ms on the floor. :headache: (It was full yesterday)

He ate the whole thing! The chocolate was what was making him shake, and the color was from the Valentine's Day M&Ms made the blood-like color. :sad2:

Luckily, my friend came over and cleaned it up for me. I think that chocolate just shocked the crap out of his system and it all came out. :scared:

I was freaked out (and gagging) though. That must have been a pleasant phone call for her to get. :rotfl:

Hi! Thanks for the welcome. I'm a SAHM to a 16m DS and have another DS on the way due in June. My DH is a firefighter and mechanic who is very excited about having another little man around the house. I am currently on a kick with fruit, especially grapes and apples. And since we gave up fast food for lent, I think the baby is punishing me with extra kicks for denying the french fries and icecream craving he seems to have. :goodvibes

OHMYGOODNESS!! Another June mom having a boy!

I'm not alone anymore!!!  :rotfl:

WELCOME!!!

Oh no no no, get the vet on the phone, you have a small dog right? The little fluffy in your siggy? Chocolate is toxic for dogs. Causes kidney failure.

I don't know how much milk chocolate it would take to damage a small dogs kidneys, but a pound is a lot of chocolate. CALL THE VET, Please.

Patsy - I would call the vet too just to be safe. Chocolate is very very bad for dogs and your little guy is so small!

Yeah, he's eaten chocolate before. The Vets know me well in terms of Rink eating chocolate, lol.
He attacked the fancy box of chocolates I bought once for a work gift exchange.. and ate almost the whole 5lbs.

I put him in his cage and gave him peroxide as always.
It was finding the M&Ms that alleviated my fear. I never thought I'd be overjoyed he ate chocolate! :rotfl:

How much does he weigh? According to this site: http://www.talktothevet.com/ARTICLES/DOGS/chocolatetoxic.HTM
If he ate a pound of milk chocolate, and is around 16 lbs, he may be very close to a toxic dose of the chemical in chocolate that is dangerous to dogs.

I'd worry a whole lot less if you had a 100lb behemoth like my dog.

Ohhh.. also, I'm going to check with my OB tomorrow and make sure she says that it is okay.. but!

I'm going to be picking up my brother (and his australian lady ;)) from the airport in Columbus Wednesday and while I wasn't willing to make a special trip.. since I'll already be there.. I'm looking at trying to get in to do a 3D ultrasound.

I've google'd and all and read up on some places but does anyone have any advice of things to look for/steer clear of?
I'm excited but I definitely don't want to do anything that would risk baby Lucas or myself (and I'll talk to my OB tomorrow, I have an appt. at 8:15!)

Peroxide flushes his entire system. He throws up everything in it and would probably throw up anything he eats for the rest of the day.
Unfortunately, Ive done this before. And M&M's aren't pure chocolate so they're better for him than those fancy chocolates a few years ago.

Rink's about 12lbs, though. He's a skinny little thing. :rotfl:

He's fine. Not shaking anymore, just looking at me like "why did you give me that crap that BURNS?" and playing with his toys. Shih-Tzu's. :sad2:. What can you do. :confused3

Thank you for the concern, though.

Well I hope that he recovers (again) to terrorize you some more. ;) Dogs will eat the dumbest things. I've taken to crating my greyhound when we go out, as apparently he's gone crazy in his old age (he's 10) and will eat anything not nailed down when he's left alone. He's stolen whole loaves of bread, a pan of rice krispie treats, a bag of tostitos, boxes of tissues, the list is endless.:sad2:

mmm... rice krispie treats...

I'm going to have to make me some of those now! thanks a lot! :rotfl:

Are you going to do a 3D/4D? I can't decide!!!
This is the place I'm looking at: http://www.firstexpressions4d.com/testimonials.asp
They seem good, but I don't know.
I got a pretty great facial shot at my last appointment. And it'll only be 3 more months. Argh! I can't decide!!

Luckily they are about the easiest thing in the world to make! :thumbsup2

I don't know if I going to bother w/ a 3D/4D u/s. My doctors office does offer them, for a fee of course. But by the time I might think about getting one, I'll be so very focused on staying pregnant as long as possible, I don't think I'd even want to possibly "jinx" things by being impatient, kwim? Sort of like if they can stay put 'til they're full term, I can be patient and wait to see them. Totally not logical, sort of superstitious actually, but there it is. Plus since I'm high risk I'll be getting lots of regular u/s's along the way.

I love being a SAHM. Oh my, I'm so tired this time around. I worked in an office before DS and it was a breeze doing work all day, coming home and keeping house, then finding time for everything else. Now, DS and I spend our days together (blessing!) and I'm thankful that at nap time the couch is a clutter-free zone. Congrats on Emma! We thought for sure DS2 was a girl because the pregnancy was so different in the beginning.

Let me say that going into the 20w US I told DH that we would either see a hamburger/hotdog bun or a turtle (which I read in an online article) and he shouted I see a turtle! when it came time to look. The tech laughed and said, yep! It's a boy. She knew exactly what he meant. :rotfl: We are thrilled.

I told DH to keep his eye our for a turtle, too! :rotfl:

DH's family hasn't had a girl in something like 5 generations, so I didn't even mention the hamburger/hotdog bun thing. I pretty much knew I was getting a boy! ;)

There is one girl and now 6 boys (including our ds2) on my husband's side. They range from 5 to 13 months so we have a ton of boy power going on!

My goodness! That is a TON of boys!

This is the first grandkiddo on both sides, mine and DH's. My cousin's wife just had a baby boy this week, though... they're in D.C. so I don't know if Lucas will ever even meet him. :confused3

Have a great night! I'm off to bed. I get to meet my OB in the morning and I'm crossing my fingers she has my glucose test results back from Tuesday! :yay:

Well, today is my due date... (not that it means anything). I was supposed to have an appointment today but the midwife I was supposed to see had to go to the hospital because a few other people were in labor. Too bad it isn't me!! I am so ready!

DH and I went to the mall to do more walking. No luck with getting the contractions to start. I guess my little one isn't quite ready to come out yet.

I hope the walking works! I forget...are you dilated at all?

Hey ladies, hope you are all well! I go to the doctor in the morning and I'm hoping for some dilation to be going on. I went last week and was a fingertip dilated. Been having tons of BH contractions so I'm hoping they're getting something started!
Also, I put up some maternity pics on my thread here if anyone's interested in seeing them. Everyone should have maternity pics taken, it's a great memory!

I'll check in again soon. LOVE the new baby pics, they are so precious!! I can't wait to post mine!

Good luck to you too! I went on Tuesday and still not dilated at all.
