Veronica, you have cute prego belly! :)

I think my Glucose drink was lemon lime. It wasn't bad at all I thought... maybe I'm weird...

Last night I had a really bad tummy ache, bad enough that I thought I was going to pass out. I was soooooo scared :scared: I must've eaten something bad because I've never felt like that before in my life. The first thought I had was... NOOOOoooo... the baby can't come out yet!!! :lmao:

Apparently I couldn't even tell the difference yet between tummy ache and contractions...

You look great, you're definitely showing!!!
What a poo-poo head. Broke up with you the day you told him you were pregnant?? Los-er!

I had some choice words for him other than loser but I guess loser is more appropriate for the DIS boards ;)

I've never heard of that store, that'd be awesome if it really existed! That'd be a fun store to people watch outside of! :rotfl:

I never thought of that, you're so right :rotfl:

Aww, if it makes you feel any better I would probably freak out too! This is my first so I have NO clue what contractions are supposed to feel like. I might think a bad tummy ache meant the baby was coming too. But at least you can get a giggle out of it now! :)

Okay, so I think I've hit ultimate gagging.

Came home and poor doggie has vommited EVERYWHERE. And it's red. Which has me worried that its blood. And he pooped. On the floor. Which he never does. So another reason for me to think something is wrong with him. So I look at him and he's shaking. And I touch him and literally falls over into my hand. My poor doggie.

But I can't stand the smell in there. I can't get past the smell to clean it up.

There are like 6 spots, too. I'm worried about the poor little critter. :(

But oh god.. the SMELL.

As someone who has experienced preterm labor & delivery, let me tell you, if you are not at or near term and expereince any kind of "tightening" across your belly painful or not, be safe and get it checked out. Even painless contractions can be causing cervical changes. Everything I had always read or heard, said labor was painful, you would just "know." So totally not true, at least not for me.

The contractions that I had were completely painless. I went to bed early and was unaware anything was amiss until I woke the next AM and there was blood. By the time I got to the hospital and got checked I was already 6 cm dialated & there was no stopping my labor. Something I'll never know, what if instead of going to bed, I went to the hospital to get checked? (Not that I knew I should have.) Could they have stalled my labor. Could I have gotten my son at least a few more weeks of precious, irreplacable gestation? I'll never know. I try not to think about things I can't change. What happened, happened.

So anyway, that's my PSA for today. I do that whenever I see/hear pg women talking about PTL, I just can't help myself sometime. Trust me, you never want to see the inside of a NICU. Especially not when it's your baby, your heart and soul, connected to the wires, tubes and monitors, struggling to breathe and fighting to simply live.

Oh no Patsy, your poor dog! I would be very worried too if I came home to that. That's just not normal. Are you going to take him to the vet and have him checked out?

I don't blame you for not being able to clean it up though. While pregnant, other people and/or animal's vomit/poop is a no go for me. My gag reflex is way to sensitive for that.

Hope everything works out for you though and that your dog is okay!

OK, if it were me (pregnant and all) I'd leave the mess & have the dog on the way to the vet ASAP. Call DH to warn him, so he's not surprised. Poor dog, hope he's ok. Any chance he ate something he shouldn't have?

Wow, thanks for sharing that. That's good to know. I will definitely keep that in mind if I ever experience anything like that. And  to you for having to go through all that. It must have been so scary.

Don't feel bad! I thought my gloucose drink was not that bad...not something I would drink all the time but I was able to drink it! Mine was orange but I definitely had it chilled.

ALSO I could not tell the difference btwn my son kicking and contractions. I did not know I was having contractions until I went in to be induced...apparently they were six minutes apart and I had no clue! I thought he was just really moving!

It was unquestionably, the most horrific time in my life. As a reference, losing both my father & my sister, to cancer within 2 years of each other paled in comparison. Don't get me wrong, it sucked & all, but didn't leave me emotionally & psychic-ly scarred, the way my son's birth & NICU time did.

And now being pregnant, with an uber-high-risk twin pregnancy, well it's never far from my thoughts. I just pray that I won't have to go through it *again* -- that might drive me stark raving, put-me-in-the-hospital-crazy. Not sure how we got through it the first time, except that there was no choice.

Hopefully I can get these babes to at least 35-36 weeks. Even 34-33, would probably be ok, as I know the difference between a baby that is critical and struggling to live and one that is just a bit small & needs a little support at the beginning. I mean plenty of 33 week preemie moms are scarred, but for me, I think it would be like breaking your hand after you had already recovered from a broken spine, just not nearly as bad as what you had already been through, ya know?

Hi,
I was hoping to drop in on your thread. My name is Jen and I'm due on June 12th with my second DS. I was reading a bunch of the previous posts and a few said you were still looking for new moms. ;)

Thanks for that information. I'll call my doctor and make sure nothing is wrong...
I'm sorry to hear about your experience, must be so horrible. I hope your current pregnancy is going well ...

Oh lordy... I don't think I can handle any bad smell before pregnancy let alone during. Your poor dog and poor you... When is DH coming home? Maybe he can handle the clean up while you take your puppy to the vet.

Thanks for the PSA. When I was pregnant with my oldest, I had a ton of painless contractions at about 24 weeks. One of my friends who had her son 6 weeks early told me to get checked IMMEDIATELY and while everything was fine, I'm so glad she told me to do that because it never would have occurred to me-and even though things were fine, I did have to spend some time off my feet for that. So again, good PSA Danny's Mom! And I'm so sorry you had to go through that. I hope we can help you out as listening ears during this pregnancy.

Poor Doggie! That smell would kill me too.

Well, today is my due date... (not that it means anything). I was supposed to have an appointment today but the midwife I was supposed to see had to go to the hospital because a few other people were in labor. Too bad it isn't me!! I am so ready!

DH and I went to the mall to do more walking. No luck with getting the contractions to start. I guess my little one isn't quite ready to come out yet.

Hey ladies, hope you are all well! I go to the doctor in the morning and I'm hoping for some dilation to be going on. I went last week and was a fingertip dilated. Been having tons of BH contractions so I'm hoping they're getting something started!
Also, I put up some maternity pics on my thread here if anyone's interested in seeing them. Everyone should have maternity pics taken, it's a great memory!

I'll check in again soon. LOVE the new baby pics, they are so precious!! I can't wait to post mine!

Your tummy is so much more pregnant than mine!! That's too cool! Is this your first? I have a bunch of my storytime moms that are pregnant and due near me and they're all bigger than me, but I thought it was cuz they have other kids. I'm jealous!!

I have a question for you and everyone else. Do you ever get up after sitting in the same position for a while and feel like you ran a marathon? Like your pelvic area muscles just screaming at you? I've been going through that the last couple of weeks. It makes me waddle even though I'm not all that big. lol

Hi! Thanks for the welcome. I'm a SAHM to a 16m DS and have another DS on the way due in June. My DH is a firefighter and mechanic who is very excited about having another little man around the house. I am currently on a kick with fruit, especially grapes and apples. And since we gave up fast food for lent, I think the baby is punishing me with extra kicks for denying the french fries and icecream craving he seems to have. :goodvibes

Lots of testosterone around your place!! It sounds like you have a great family. Welcome and congrats!!
