Newest "Moms to Be" Thread

Patsy, what is that for? Don't think I have heard of that.

Good luck on your midterm.

Thanks, I haven't started studying yet. :scared1:

It's because I have O- and DH has A+ blood. Supposed to keep my body from fighting with Lucas' in case he got his daddy's + blood.
I guess it's not usually an issue with the first baby (unless he for some reason starts bleeding, my body would attack his + blood:scared1: ) but for the second baby, keeping my body from building up antibodies in case there is a baby #2 and they get their dad's + too.

My little jazzerciser. :lovestruc
I was just laying in bed trying to figure out how to get into MedVoice (my Dr. calls and leaves messages and I have to use a login to get into it) and the kitty sat on my tummy.
Kick. Kick. KICK. Her eyes got huge and she BOLTED! :rotfl: :rotfl:

I think I've decided to laugh (when DH isn't around) over the family drama. They're so much different than my family, I just don't know what to think! :rotfl:

What a wonderful schedule your little one is on! I know you're ahead of me, how far are you again? I'm not looking forward to the stage where he's going to be keeping me up. :headache:

I hope those contractors finish up soon so you can get your nap! I've got to study for a midterm (8pm tonight!) and pop by the hospital for my glucose test and Rhogam injection sometime today. :scared1:

HAHA... I can't imagine what your cat must be thinking being kicked by your belly :lmao:

Don't worry, you'll get there (the no sleeping part). My nurse keeps telling me that's how nature trains us for AFTER the baby is born. Nice huh?

Good luck on your midterm and hopefully you don't have to wait too long for your injection. The things we do for our babies...

Oh I'm 31 weeks going on 32. So another 8-9 weeks to go. Actually we had a friend who delivered at 32 weeks last december. So I'm already a little bit on edge right now. BUT I've had no braxton hicks or anything of that sort. I'm thinking I'm going full term no problem. But we never really know do we? :scared:

Anyways, have a good study session!!!

Good luck on your midterm.

I think the injection is necessary if mom has an Rh negative blood type to prevent blood issue with the delivery later on... but I could be wrong.

Well, I threw up about a dozen times yesterday, and already about 3 today, so I don't think my MS is better. And at 30 wks, I don't see it happening. I'll be better when she gets here.

You know they say there is one in every family, so if you don't know which one it is you better take a long look at yourself! It looks like you and your dh have the crazies covered! Dh and I have plenty of nuts to choose from:rotfl: Luckily, neither one of us is sensitive about how weird our folks are, and we can always come home and have a good laugh after a visit.:lmao:

I know, 20 weeks!! Isn't going by so fast?!

I always get excited when you hit these milestones because I know I am just a week behind you. I'll be 20 weeks on Sunday

Patsy, WOW that is some story. I had to re-read it to make sure I had everything straight :rotfl: Don't you just love the drama? Luckily, I have no in-laws to deal with. Although my ex and his current gf (the one he left me to get back together with) will surely bring the drama once the baby is born I'm sure. Right now there's really nothing they can do but once the court stuff starts....I'm not looking forward to that at all :sad2: But at least you can get some laughs out of your MIL/BIL/SIL drama ;)

You're almost halfway too!! :yay:   :woohoo:

You think they're going to cause issues? Thats too bad. :sad2:
Has he said anyting to you about it yet?

...I just got home from the hospital, from getting my blood drawn for that glucose test. I am so glad I got to drink that crap in the privacy of my own bathroom. It was yuck-ee! I was pep-talking myself through it. "Only 4 ounces to go, you can do it!" then I'd take a chug. :rotfl: I don't think I could have done that in the Dr's office.
Then I hopped in the nice hot shower and tried to forget all about it. :scared:

Great. 3 more weeks? Thats all I get? :headache:

The lab was backed up and they wanted to test my blood to make sure I haven't been exposed before they give me the Rhogam. They'll call me.
Watch them call right before my stinkin' midterm, too! :sad2: At least I got the glucose out of the way, I hope I pass! *fingers crossed*

I'm waiting on lunch to finish so I figured I could break up the studying for a quick stop by the DIS. :rolleyes1

A big message popped up when they put my info into the computer that said "Braxton Hicks-Preterm Labor risk" Uh.
I asked her and she said that is what the L&D put in my chart whenever I went into the ER for my gallbladder. I didn't have either! I'm going to be talking to my OB about that one.

As for kitty, I'm not sure she has forgiven me. I keep getting glared at and she won't come near me anymore... :rotfl: :rotfl:

Isn't fun to share with someone like that? :grouphug:

LOL!!! You and me both. I am exhausted but I can't nap because contractors are in the house... :sad2: On one hand I'm happy they finally started, but I so wanted a nap :headache:
WOW! Half way mark... you're getting there!!! :yay:

The only thing getting me through the next 2 hours is the promise of a nap when I get home. Sorry you can't have one! :sad2:

Did it get FREEZING up there again? I went to bed sweating and woke up with my teeth chattering. :confused3

Give the nap a try! No can blame you!

And TWENTY WEEKS!! :dance3:
Has your MS gotten any better?

(And when do we get belly pictures? :rolleyes1 )

No, it's not freezing, but it will be by the end of the week or early next week. It's in the 40s today, which is much better than it will be. I think we'll get one more big storm before it's finally over.

Yes! I feel much better. I started doing better around 14 weeks and somewhere between 16-20 it pretty much disappeared. I still have moments, but for the most part, I'm much better!

I'm waiting for DH to put the belly pics on the computer. :thumbsup2 They are coming eventually...

December, did you do your 3hour yet?

I did, and passed. It wasn't fun though:sick: . I'm just so relieved I don't have to deal with the diet and everything.

I just got back from the school. I reviewed 2 of my classes, and finished making out my tests. All for no pay, but I couldn't give them an exam I hadn't reviewed them for! And I found out the seniors picked me to go to their honor banquet with them. They pick one teacher a year, so it is a big honor. I got to go 2 yrs ago, and got a plaque and a write up in the booklet that goes along with it. So at least my students know how hard I work!:goodvibes

Well I don't think it will be him that causes issues, it will be her. I mean, this is the crazy woman who stalked me at work when I was dating him and called him sixty times a day (that is NOT an exaggeration :headache: ) for the stupidest reasons. She's a total nut and I just can't see her taking the news of me having his baby very well. Oh and she doesn't know yet because he wont tell her. He hasn't talked to me at all since we broke up. I guess he figures he'll just deal with it when the baby comes

That's so funny you say that because I just saw my cousin today who is also pregnant. She's about a month and a half ahead of me and she just recently did her glucose test and she LIKED the stuff they made her drink. She said she wanted one to go :lmao: I'm all "doesn't everyone say that stuff is nasty?!" But she said she thought it was delicious. To each their own I guess!

Ugh. What a whack-a-doodle. She sounds like she's part of my DH's family! :rotfl:
(I have a stalker, I know how creepy and annoying they are. :headache: I've had mine for about 3 years now and he still thinks we're going to get married. :sad2: )
I can't believe he hasn't told her! I bet it'll be messy when you start to show- or does she still see you? He knows, though, I assume? I don't know when you guys broke up. :confused3
What a mess. I wish you luck. Feel free to come vent if does something totally whack-a-doodle. I know talking about it makes it 10x better. I actually got to the point that I could laugh over it. After about two years. :rolleyes1

*ETA* Your cousin sounds like a bit of a whackadoodle, too. The only way I got through it was because someone, somewhere told me to stick it in the freezer a couple hours before so that it's like slush. That made it 10x more bearable.
I'm obsessed with the word whackadoodle today.

I've already started to show but she doesn't see me. She's never even actually met me! Apart from the whole stalking me at work thing. I can totally believe he hasn't told her. He's a wimp and always let her control him when they were together. Now that they're back together I am sure nothing's changed. He doesn't handle confrontation well so I doubt he would be man enough to tell her himself. She'll probably find out from the court summons. Oh well, that's his problem. But he definitely knows about me being pregnant. He broke up with me the same day I told him about it. What a winner. Oh and then he told a friend of ours from work that I was making it all up to try and get him back  Not sure where he thinks I got those three postive pregnancy tests from though  Maybe the "how to trick your e-xboyfriend into thinking you're pregnant" store?

:rotfl: Whackadoodle is a fun word to use. She said hers tasted like fruit punch though so maybe different doctors use different drinks? I'm not sure how it works.

Okay, I am going to be brave and post a belly picture. Here is me at almost 5 months. I took it in my bathroom so the quality isn't the greatest :rotfl: :

Thanks for the compliments ladies! I am actually starting to feel more comfortable with how I look. It's more of a pregnant belly than just a fat belly at this point :rotfl:

I know what you mean! I'm a tall person so thankfully the extra weight is more spread out...but basically I just looked "fat" for most of my pregnancy, not a baby belly.

Of course, now at nearly 9 months, it's definitely baby belly -- and I can't wait for it to be done!

Oh my goodness, you're sooo close! I don't blame you for wanting to be done, you're practically there already! I bet you're so excited :goodvibes

You look great, you're definitely showing!!!
What a poo-poo head. Broke up with you the day you told him you were pregnant?? Los-er!
I've never heard of that store, that'd be awesome if it really existed! That'd be a fun store to people watch outside of! :rotfl:

I've heard of lemon lime and root beer flavored ones, too! Mine was orange. :headache:
