I totally get what you mean-- I've been seeing him move for a few weeks and trying to get Tom to catch it but he never did.
We were just laying in bed last night, Tom playing his Nintendo DS and I was reading a book when he started kicking me hard enough the BOOK was moving.. I realized he kicked wherever I had the book resting on my tummy, so I whacked Tom to get his attention, pulled the book kinda tight over my tummy and sure enough, he got to see!!
Seems like if I say something .. like "come look!" he stops kicking. So it was perfect we were just laying there and I could just grab him and show him.
...and I know what you mean about the movement. This is my first but when he's moving I'm like "phew!" but when he stops... I'm like "Who takes a nap this long? Seriously?" and start bouncing in my seat-- I wanna know he's okay!!!

I was getting contractions right on top of each other. My OB was out of town that day so she didn't deliver me, another doctor from the same practice did. He asked me what size my doc predicted DD was going to be, and I told him high 7-pound range. He felt my belly and said he thought she was 8+. Funny how she turned out to be a six-pounder
I was pretty close to getting a c-section after having to push for 90 minutes, but fortunately vacuum extraction works!
