December - That's great!! Honestly, I like hearing all the answers! My best friend is similar. She decided that they wanted to start trying one weekend and got pregnant immediately. As in that day!! It took her 4 months to get pregnant with the second. I ask her what she did and all she says is have lots of BD in the middle of the month!

Well, we tend to enjoy our time together most days of the month .

I just try to be sensitive. I have one sister who could not have kids, and several friends are have been trying for years. Life just isn't always fair.

Okay Mommies To Be ... Can I ask you all a question? Kind of personal.

How long did it take you to concieve? Medical intervention?

DH and I are onto cycle 5 TTC #2. It took us 8 months to get pregnant with DS. I am hoping for less than that this time around but it's creeping up. My doctor said in 3 more month if we aren't pregnant and want to be to call him. The time we did get pregnant with DS I only saw DH once that month. After months of prefectly timed BD we got PG on a fluke month. I am hoping that there isn't something up with DH's swimmers ...

It took us almost a year... Then I miscarried, and we stopped trying. Of course once we stopped, I was pregnant almost immediately. With my other two.. My first I was actually on the pill, oops. The second.. I got pregnant the month before we were going to start trying.

I got pregnant really easily too. Went off the pill in mid-April, had a 27-day cycle, conceived on the next cycle. I found out I was pregnant on Father's Day. I was very surprised; my mom had fertility issues (her ovaries). I was definitely expecting it to take a while, at the very least.

It took us 6 months to get preggers.

I was diagnosed with PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) in September. Basically my body produces cysts instead of eggs sometimes. We decided to stop trying for 3 months while I lost some weight since that can jump start everything. I was pregnant the next month. It was the only month I ever got to chart. I was really sick the first week I was pregnant and I attributed my temperature rise to that, but by the second week, I already had some MS and terrible heartburn and I knew. I still had to wait a week before I could do a test. lol

As for how long we TTC, I actually got pregnant the first month we tried. I got the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility and charted my fertility signs for a few months after going off the Pill. Then the first month we wanted to TTC, I got pregnant. I was actually really surprised because I thought it would take at least a few months.

Both middle names are family names. I am thinking it will be Natalie Ann. I think it flows better. What do you all think?

So pretty! My neice's name is Natalee. She goes by Nati, though.

What are your ideas for your nursery? I LOVE talking about nurseries-- mine isn't planning out how I'd hoped at all so I'm basking in the glory of everyone else!

Disney Ron- Yep, but I usually have to get a prescription shampoo in the winter for dry scalp. I did notice it earlier this year, though. Now I need to remember to go get the shampoo.



DMickey28, my answer is pretty close to december's. DH and I were thinking about our options (whether or not I'd start the next pack of BC pills vs. other forms of BC vs. none at all) when his dad unexpectedly died and we never decided and I never got it filled.. thus never started taking it (should have started the day of FIL's funeral, so clearly our minds were elsewhere). I got pregnant that very month.
The morning I took my test I was late and we were actually discussing what we wanted to do- fill the prescription or not? I tested for the heck of it and we were both shocked at the +. I never dreamed I'd get pregnant the very first month w/o birth control after taking it for so long.

As for how long it took me to conceive. 2 years with the first that I lost at 11 weeks and 3 years with this one.


Piecey- I found some bedding with butterflies (which I love) and flowers on it. It is not "in your face" just a butterfly here and there. It kinda is done applique (sp?) quilt form. The colors are pink and green. I went out today to look at paint. It is soooo much fun to decorate.

Getting pregnant was not my problem.... staying pregnant on the other hand... I had my son at 26 1/2 weeks. But as for concieving him, we weren't "trying" as in I wasn't charting, temping, doing any ovulation predictor tests, we had stopped using BC (condoms) and thus weren't preventing for only 2 or 3 months when I got pg the first time.

This time, we were very ambivalent about getting pg again, due to the "fear factor" of having another preemie, so not actively trying again. But we had stopped preventing about 13 months before I got pregnant this time. Now I'm pregnant with twins (most likely due to my age, I'm 37.)

You don't mention your age, that definitely plays a factor in deciding how long you try to get pg naturally before going the medical route.

I love either one! My oldest is a "Natalie Kathleen" , so I'm a little biased. "Ann" is one of my other daughters' middle names, so I have to say I approve!

We'll be doing some sort of disney theme. My FIL is an artist (like DH) and can do a mural of any disney character we want. He actually has a room in the basement that is covered in disney characters.

I was sort of thinking about creating Pixie Hollow if it's a girl...and FIL got me a how to draw Pixie Hollow book for Christmas, so we'll see. The room would be the focal point and then the bedding and furniture would be very classic and understated so it's not too overwhelming.

If it's a boy we'll probably go primary colors and the main crew, Mickey, Donald, Pluto and Goofy.

I am 30 and DH is 33. I read the book TCOYF back when TTC DS in 2006 and started charting then. I have been charting and visiting their forums as obsessively as the DIS since October of this year. I should never have gone back on BCP's after DS was born but at that point I wasn't even sure of a second one!

One of our major problems is that with DS, DH's work schedule and just general life we do not take the time nor get the time to 'enjoy' each other on a regular basis. It makes the TTC that much more of a focus/job!

Hi, I just found this group today (thanks to the Family board) Didn't even realzie it existed... guess I don't "browse" as much on the boards as I used to Anywhoo... I'm 29 weeks... 6 days pregnant (I've been saying 30 since last week ) with our first, EDD is April 22 and it's a little girl
DH and I (really me.. DH goes along "for the food") have been disney nuts since our 1yr anniversary trip in 2003. I have now taken the baby twice so she's already a Disney traveler... once when I was about 9 weeks pregnant and then again when I was 26 weeks pregnant.... and today I just scheduled her first real trip for this Sept so she'll be 5 months old (and DH just said that we should go back again in Dec maybe he IS turning into a disney nut after all )
We spent 6 years TTC... well, we weren't doing anything to NOT concieve... went to 2 Drs.. found out there is a case of Endometrosis... started doing temps with 2nd dr and then stopped trying all-together and low and behold it happened

ok.. enough rambling from me already... I tend to do that... I also lurk a lot
