Newest "Moms to Be" Thread

I got the orange drink at my last appt, too. I was told to eat a light breakfast (appt is at 8) and drink it on the way (I'm an hour from my dr).

I am so jealous you all get to take your drinks with you. That would be soooooooooo much easier!

I didn't even have to make an appointment with mine. I was shocked!

She said, nope- just walk in and tell them you're on a timed test and tell them when to draw your blood.
Okay! I plan to show up maybe 20 minutes before they need to draw it to fill out paperwork and stuff. Woohoo.

My dr's office does everything in-house. So it isn't an extra appt-just my regular monthly one.

I'm tired today. I never got the 2nd trimester energy boost, and now I'm almost to the 3rd trimester!

I was able to take the orange drink home. They told me to put in the fridge to drink it cold. Tasted kinda like an sunkist. though I was told NOT to eat before I took the test. I took the test right at 8m so I had to drink the drink at 7am. I failed the one hour and had to do the 3 hr (but passed that one) and not eating before that was not that bad bc each time I had blood drawn I had to drink more so the sugar held off my hunger.

Congrats, that is the best feeling!! Are they sending you to any ultrasounds in the near future to determine your due date?

Lisa, pixiedust: pixie dust coming your way today! pixiedust: We are all thinking of you

I have had two ultrasounds already to determine the date, the first one was too early at 5 weeks and then I waited anxiously for two weeks and went back and found out I was 7 weeks and everything was going well. I am due September 7th. It is a great feeling now that we are almost to the 12 weeks and heard the heartbeat. We miscarried our last so I have been a wreck this time... very hard to enjoy being pregnant.

Hearing the hearbeat is always when I breathe a small sigh of relief and really believe that there's more going on in there than just indigestion on my part. An early glimpse really helps too. Congratulations on the due date and the heartbeat.

I am so happy for you. I have a BFF who went through the whole miscarriage concerns it is not fun. I hope you are able to sit back and relax and enjoy this little gift.:flower3:

Feel free to vent here, share exciting things and voice any of your concern.
We are all going through this together.

I was expecting some baby news today...

Hope everyone is doing well.

I went out to dinner again last night. :teeth: And when I laid down for bed I felt really sick as usual. I decided to try sucking on a cough drop, and it worked!!

I had a pretty bad nosebleed this morning and got blood on my favorite jeans. :( They're the only ones that still vaguely fit my waist. I used some stain stuff, but I had to go to work, so hopefully I can get it out.

I was too! (Sorry about the nosebleed. No fun)

I hope everyone has a good Friday!

Oh no problem! After the last couple of weeks I've had, a nosebleed is welcome relief! Didn't mean to complain, I'm just upset about the jeans! lol

Anyone find any nice early pregnancy jeans anywhere? My Old Navy doesn't carry the maternity stuff and I'd really rather try them on first.

All the ones people have lent/given to me are for later stages...

On getting blood stains out..... (why would I know about this you may ask? Nothing nefarious, just an accident prone greyhound!) Hydrogen peroxide gets out blood, but may bleach certain fabrics, so you might want to use it as a last resort. Peroxide works better on synthetics, like polyester, so is good for most carpets.

Oxyclean works really well to get out blood, with less chance of bleaching out. I have both a liquid in a spray bottle & a powder & last time I think I used both, bloodstains all gone. :) If the bloodstain is set in (not fresh) better if you can pre-treat w/ the oxyclean & let it set a while.

Thanks!

DH (art teacher) has this special artist's stain stick that he gets at the local craft store and it says it gets out blood. I used it and rinsed before I left this morning, and it definitely got out the worst of it. Then I put a little on and left it, which I hope doesn't bleach it.

I have some oxyclean, so if this doesn't work, I'll try that next time. I'm sure I'll need it at some point in the future!

OMG. My kids are taking a test, and I stupidly clicked on the botched abortion at 23 wks thread. I'm fighting vomiting right now, and just want to cry.:sad1:

I saw that but didn't read the whole thing. It's that bad? I'll stay away then.

Skylarr- I kinow how you feel. I miscarried with my first child 3 years ago. With this pregnancy, it was very hard to let myself get excited. Everyone around me was bouncing off the walls and I would just smile. Once I made it past the 12th week, things got better. I am now in my 20th week and I too am now bouncing off the walls.:cheer2:

The baby was born alive, with no dr present, and thrown in the garbage. My last sonogram was at 23 wks, and she was playing with her feet. I just can't imagine.

Wow. Yeah, I'll skip that one.
