Newest "Moms to Be" Thread

Uh-we went out to eat tonight. I've been looking forward to it for 2 wks. Money was tight in Jan, so we didn't go anywhere. We were supposed to go out last wkend but something came up for dh. We went to my favorite restaurant in the next town and I got my favorite meal:grilled catfish with crawfish sauce, baked sweet potato, and a side of grilled shrimp. So good. Well, Katie didn't agree. We barely made it home, and I got so sick:scared: . Dh feels bad because he knows how much I've been looking forward to this meal. If Battlestar Galactica wasn't coming on tonight, I'd go to bed. But I'm too big of a scifi geek to miss it!

Awww. thats a bummer. I have to say though that none of that sounds appetizing to me.. I must be too far north!

I called DH on my home from work and said "I want LoMein but I'm starving, get all the leftovers out of the fridge and have them warm and ready when I get there"

I walked in the door and downed Japanese stir-fry noodles, chicken fajitas, tacos and lima beans.
It was the weirdest meal ever, but MAN! I was hungry.
I topped it off with a smore.

ok...I need to do a shameless post to see what my ticker says today...changes on Saturday.

Hearing the hearbeat is always when I breathe a small sigh of relief and really believe that there's more going on in there than just indigestion on my part. An early glimpse really helps too. Congratulations on the due date and the heartbeat.

Thanks!

I am so happy for you. I have a BFF who went through the whole miscarriage concerns it is not fun. I hope you are able to sit back and relax and enjoy this little gift.:flower3:

Feel free to vent here, share exciting things and voice any of your concern.
We are all going through this together.

Thank you! I am getting more excited, by next appointment I will be ready to shop as we will be almost 14 weeks!

Skylarr- I kinow how you feel. I miscarried with my first child 3 years ago. With this pregnancy, it was very hard to let myself get excited. Everyone around me was bouncing off the walls and I would just smile. Once I made it past the 12th week, things got better. I am now in my 20th week and I too am now bouncing off the walls.:cheer2:

It is so hard to have a miscarriage and first moms worry so much as it is that when you add in a miscarriage you just kind of :scared: about everything.
:grouphug: I know how you feel, I have had two miscarriages, and one of them was just a few months before this pregnancy. I just started to relax after my last apt.

Hugs, so glad everything is going well for you, I don't know if I could handle that, you are very brave.

Update: So I spent yesterday in the ER because I was spotting... only when I wiped after using the restroom and it was pale pink. That bothered me but I knew it could be 'common' and not to freak (which I did anyways) because there was no cramping etc. Didn't see anything overnight so was ready to go to work yesterday when I saw a dime size amount of red blood when I wiped and then we left straight for the ER.

6 hours and lots of torturous things later everything is fine. Cervix is closed, heartbeat is 167, HCG levels are on the high side of the normal scale, and bleeding (if you want to call it that  ) has stopped.

I just have to check with my doctor on Monday and test HCG's again.

It was my poor husbands birthday too but we are glad that everything is alright. I can say I officially over reacted but it's our little Acorn and I was worried.

Glad everything turned out well. I had spotting with both of my pregnancy, like you said it can be very common. You were right to get checked out anyway. You take care of yourself and that little Acorn!!

That is a high heartbeat, I am thinking another little girl could be in the making here!

Let us know how you make out Monday.

Ann

I don't think that's an overreaction, but maybe that's because I would have done the same thing. (And did while pregnant with my son, who turned out to be just fine too!) I'm glad everything is OK and that your Dr. is monitoring everything to be on the safe side!

Wonderful! I'm so glad you didn't have to be induced! Welcome to the world, little Luca! :cool1:

Oh, so what if you overreacted? You know everything's okay in there, right? It's worth it for peace of mind, IMO. :)

:cheer2: Congrats! I was supposed to be induced with dd9, too, but went into labor early that morning. Sometimes they just know when to show up!

Congrats Mommy, I am so excited for you! Give Luca a kiss from all of us.

Congrats on the new babies!

I just rented a fetal doppler from storkradio.com. Now I will be able to listen to Acorns heartbeat whenever I want instead of freaking out! I can't wait until it gets here, supposedly you can hear the heartbeat from about 8 weeks and we will be over 10 weeks when it gets here so it should be perfect. Hope I can get it to work!

I've read about other people doing it and seen the one on the shelf at Wal Mart, but didn't do it myself.

Let us know how it goes!

I used the Babies R Us Coupons I got in the mail to go get some more stuff tonight. We're getting pretty close to covered on the bigger stuff. Got the Rainforest highchair for $75, a mattress, a bathing thingie (let DH pick it out, he went for the one that looks like a whale!)and also had coupons in that BRU book for $2 off any box of wipes (got a box of 400 some for 6.99!) and $5 off Dreft and $5 off any box of diapers..

So now my backseat is full, my bonus is gone, and we're a step closer to being ready for Lucas.

congrats to the new mommies and welcome tessa and luca. can't wait to see pics

How fun, I have been dying to go to Babies R Us. DS has the Rainforest Highchair and loves it. To this day he still loves the tray toy.

Just don't panic if you can't find the heartbeat early on. With ds11, the dr. couldn't find the heartbeat at 10 wks, so I got to see him bouncing around in an early sonogram. With this baby, the dr. didn't even try to find it on doppler until 13 wks, even though I heard it on the sonogram at 9 wks.

We don't have a BRU, but we've got a TRU with a pretty big baby section.

They mailed me a booklet of coupons (15% off mattresses, 10% off highchairs, etc) so we went to look and buy stuff we knew we needed (coupons expire in a few weeks) and TRU was the only place in the area I knew to get a mattress. The highchair I couldn't pass up because it was on sale (20% off) and then my coupon took another 10% off and they only had 1 left.
Seems like they're getting rid of the Rainforest collection, too. First the swing and now the highchair I've gotten pretty marked down.

I'm excited to have gotten some more stuff blown off of our list but still need a stroller, car seat and pack-n-play. Hmm.

:grouphug: Im so glad you went in and got checked out. I would have done the same thing. Spotting is very scary during early pregnancy. Thank goodness everything is well!!

Yep.. I have never heard that early either. Even with the twins we couldnt hear at my 10 week appt. pretty sure that was the appointment they were jumping up and down on each other in the ultrasound. :rotfl2:
