Newest "Moms to Be" Thread

Am I the only one who never takes my rings off? I'm sure my fingers will swell around them. lol

Well, I'm going to keep mine on. They haven't been off since I got engaged and married. We'll see how it goes.

I never take mine off, either. When I was pregnant with ds11, my finger swelled and turned blue. I can remember crying and begging while dh threatened to cut them off. Finally, he got some butter and we were able to work them off, but it hurt like hell. With dd9, I took my rings off later in pregnancy when I started swelling, and I'll do the same with this one. I'm like you, though. At 16.5 weeks I weigh less than I did when I got pregnant, so no danger of tight rings yet.

Well, I found a ring in my jewelry box that fits--I used to wear it on my right hand. It's actually rather apropos; a silver band with AMOR VINCIT OMNIA (love conquers all) inscribed on it in medieval lettering. I just can't go around without a ring on that finger; it feels funny and I keep looking at my hand thinking "ACK! I lost my ring!" And then I remember. :rotfl:

I just hope my fingers don't stay this huge after the baby comes! I will say I feel a bit like I have arthritis in my hands; all of my joints/knuckles have been sore and stiff.

I also got carpal tunnel with ds11. Talk to your doctor about the pain in your hands. I had to wear braces on both hands everywhere-if I didn't the pain was awful. It went away after he was born, and I didn't get it with dd9. It is somewhat common in pregnant women.

Hmm... This isn't like carpal tunnel, there's no numbness or tingling, and the soreness is just in the joints.

I've always taken mine off at night.

Me, too. I hit our headboard (we have a solid cherry sleigh bed) while I'm sleeping a lot and I'm always afraid if I wear them I'll scratch the crap out of it.
That and my fingers go up and down in size a lot and I'm afraid they'll slip off and disappear!

DH lost his in a pillowcase once (I guess it slipped off while he was sleeping) and it took him days to find it. He didn't tell me it was missing because he didn't want me to freak out! :rotfl:

Don't want to bumm you out more...but it is 10 weeks since I delivered (has it really been that long) and my wedding rings still do not fit. :sad2:

I dont think I have worn mine since the beginning of the year.. I got pregnant last Christmas, and miscarried.. I was very swollen during the whole thing.

I still weigh less then I did when I got pregnant. not by much, just a pound or two. Im HUGE though. I tell everyone that I am redistributing. ;) :lmao:

He turned 11 in July, so it has been a LONG time! I just remember aching hands and wrists, and weakness. I couldn't pour my own drink-someone had to do it for me! I really hope I don't get it again.

Besides carpal tunnel and throwing up for 9 mos with ds11, I also had nerve problems in my leg. I would be walking down the hall at school, and my leg would quit working. I was teaching Deuce McAllister (plays for the Saints now) that year, and he would guide me down the hall and help me to my chair. He was a good kid.

It is amazing what pregnancy can do to your body. No wonder I went 9 yrs between pregnancies!:)

i couldn't wear my rings for 5 months of my pregnancy took me 2 weeks after emily was born to wear my rings again.

We go for family portraits and picture with santa next week:santa: :santa:

I had it bad too, with my last two pregnancies. It's starting later in this one, thank goodness.

Make sure you post a picture. We'd love to see Emily and how much she's grown!!!:goodvibes

Ack! That doesn't sound fun at all. I know if it gets to the point of having to take them off I'll have a really hard time doing it. No worries about that for a good while yet I wouldn't think. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one losing. The doc said it is quite common but it still concerns me as I don't seem to be getting an appetite even after the sickness ended.

I'm still sick all the time. And nothing sounds really good-I just make myself eat. Which isn't like me-I'm a big girl! The dr. told me at my 15 week appt that as long I start gaining some in the 2nd half of pregnancy (after my next appt) she wouldn't be worried. I showed really early with my 1st and 2nd, so people keep commenting that I'm not really showing yet.

Hi All,

I just ordered some maternity stuff from JC Penney. I used a 30% off code (HOLIDAY). I got a cute pair of cords and a pair of jeans for $19. At motherhood.com cords were $40. I hate paying full price for maternity clothes so I wanted to share.

I thought my first Dr. appointment was 12/10 but I must have had a prego moment...it isn't till 12/11! At least I was just off one day.

Cords are my pants of choice when I know I'm going to eat a big meal!:thumbsup2
Wore them for Turkey Day and last night at Red Lobster....sooo comfortable.

Hey everyone!

Well, I set an induction date! If this boy isn't here by 12/18, I have an appointment set for 6am to have him taken out! :cool1:

My furniture finally arrive last weekend! Luckily it was preassembled, so my husband did not have to spend all day building a crib! If anyone is interested, we put pictures up:

Has anyone ever had an induction? This is my first, so i don't know what to expect either way!

Right now I can barely walk and it is a major event just to get off the couch! :lmao: Good thing I only have 11 more days!

I know absolutely nothing about being induced. I just have to comment on your nursery. It turned out so well! I love the carpet and the furniture. You want to come do ours?

Ohh!! I love your nursery. I can't wait to get started doing ours!!
We should close on the house this coming Friday, then I'm going on Vacation (Bahamas, baby!) and I can come home and we can start doing the stuff we want before we move in!!

YAY!!

Oh, and my mom was induced for me because of stress. I think she was induced early (her mom died March 23, they induced her to have me April 7).. It was 21 years ago but I can ask her later. I'm headed down that way to make cookies!

Hello everyone!!!

I'm sorry I haven't check in lately!! I went into labor 2 more times and they stopped it yet again. Miss Ava is still baking away and I've been doing great for the last few days! I believe she's settled down now. I am now 2cm dilated and 80% effaced. My OB is hopeful that I'll make it to the 30th which is my scheduled induction date. We are having to keep an eye on me though and I have apts every 3-4 days because I'm extremely swollen, my blood pressure is going up, and I'm spilling protein in my urine - so they are watching me for pre-ecclampsia. Bus as of right now we are fine and hoping Ava holds on until our scheduled date of December 30th. Ava's definitely dropped and I've I though I would share a comparison pic from 33 weeks to 35 weeks!

Finally! A new baby coming again!!! First I just want to say that your nursery is adorable. Especially the monkey hanging from the ceiling fan...that was my favorite!:goodvibes

I was induced with my last two pregnancies. Both times, I just had my water broken. I wouldn't feel anything for about 2-3 hours, then the contractions would start. They use cervidil for a lot of women to ripen their cervix, so you might get that. I didn't need it, because my cervix was always ready way too early.:rotfl: Anyway, that's an insert they put inside of you. Sometimes they give it to you the day before you go into the hospital, it all depends.

I know that they say that induced labor is harder, but I don't have anything else to judge by, since I was induced all three times I've given birth. If the labor really isn't as bad, then I will pray that my water breaks on its own this time!:lmao:
