Newest "Moms to Be" Thread

Yeah! It was really cool and so amazing that after only 4 real weeks the little pea already has a heart is sooo amazing.:lovestruc One of my books said you can't see the heartbeat until 12 weeks...maybe that was 'hear'...

Im gonna guess that it is hear.. I say the twins at 8 weeks, and my other two little beasties around 8-9 weeks too. Gorgeous, isnt it?? :lovestruc

I know everyone says this, but I really didn't think it would effect me like that. I mean, it was just a little blob with a pulse, but wow....sooo cool.

 I know exactly what you mean! I still get weepy at my ultrasounds. We walked out of our... well our second ultrasound with the twins, first ended with me having a bit of a fit. :rolleyes1 But the second one my husband came to and we both left crying because we were so happy.

:thumbsup2

Man I wish I could bottle how I feel today! Besides the excitement of the ultrasound, I just feel great. I was able to eat and have no nausea, and I got to take a nap this afternoon before my appointment. Makes me want to quit my job! :lmao:

Cool. I feel better about us having our names done too.

Lucas Aaron or Cassidy Dawn

I still haven't gotten to see anything. Stupid insurance, only 1 ultrasound unless there is a medical necessity so she wants to wait until 19 weeks to have a better picture of how things are going.

Okay, so what food is everyone finding they enjoy or are able to keep down now being pregnant?

I'm actually quited disappointed that I don't have more cravings. I was sure I would end up as big as a house because I looooove food in ordinary life. I thought pregnancy would make it even worse. However, even after the morning sickness has subsided, I can't seem to get much of an appetite. I'll sit and try to think of things that I would like to eat, since I really need to gain, but can't seem to work myself up. When I first got pregnant, pre-morning sickness, I had all kinds of cravings: peanut butter, sushi, blue Powerade, chicken, etc. Now, it just seems to be chocolate and Pepsi, both bad.

Anyone else throwing names around yet??

We've been thinking of names from the get-go. For girls' names, we like Sophie and Jenny. For boys' names, Joel and Peter. There are others that are on the list too but these ones are at the top, for now. If it's a girl, I'm pretty sure we are going to give her Mae as a middle name. Not only will she likely be born in the month of May but my dear aunt also has that name and it was my grandmother's middle name.

There must be a stomach thing going around. My dr thinks that is what my problem was this week--then I found out that my manager had the stomach flu the last couple of days--so that must have been it. It makes so much sense now.

Have you all had flu shots? I know they don't always help but last month, our doc gave me one while I was there and DH too. He had to pay for his but it's free for all pregnant women in Canada.

Congrats, I am so looking forward to seeing that little heartbeat. One more week for me!

One more week from yesterday for me too! December 10th is the big day of the ultrasound. I'm pretty sure we only get one another there are problems. So, I'll make it a good one.

Oh, that sucks!

I haven't had a flu shot. It's one of the things I meant to ask about at my dr visit yesterday that I forgot. Actually I just expected my dr to bring it up.

I'm making a list for the next appointment.

Tell me about it. I wonder how expensive they are if I just say "Hey, I'll pay for it.. wheel that baby in here and lets take a look!" :rotfl:

I think we wanna do one of the 3D but since I don't want to know the sex I wonder if that would give it away? :confused3

they'll just ask you when you go in for the u/s whether you want to know sex of baby and if not then they will have you look away and not show you that part.

Seriously bummed this morning--my wedding band wouldn't fit over my knuckle. :sad1:

Don't want to bumm you out more...but it is 10 weeks since I delivered (has it really been that long) and my wedding rings still do not fit. :sad2:

Oh no! My wedding band can't be re-sized due to the design on it (ivy leaves run all around the band). My engagement ring--no problemo. So I'm hoping this isn't permanent. :( I did gain weight since I got engaged/married, so hopefully weight loss on top of the baby's birth will fix my problem.

Please be careful with your rings!!! Mine got stuck on my finger almost a year ago and it took hours to get it off. My finger swelled up twice its normal size and hurt for a week (it was really disgusting!:scared1: ). Then, on top of that, I started having really bad panic attacks every day for months (very claustrophobic).

To this day, I'm afraid to wear any rings.:rotfl:

HAS it really been that long? I'd love to see a picture of Caleb!:goodvibes

Am I the only one who never takes my rings off? I'm sure my fingers will swell around them. lol

I've always taken mine off at night.

I hadn't been wearing my engagement ring because it and the wedding band together are rather wide on my finger (each ring is 4mm wide) and it was very uncomfortable. The last thing I want is to have to have my rings cut off.

I'm just hoping I can get my wedding band back on later.

Well, I'm going to keep mine on. They haven't been off since I got engaged and married. We'll see how it goes.

Mine never came off until late in pregnancy with DS#1. I saw a horror story on one of those birth shows where they had to cut the rings of the woman in the hospital. :scared1: My rings will probably never fit me again. I'm just waiting until I lose the baby weight from this one to see where I should get it sized to.
