Newest "Moms to Be" Thread

No-I didn't mean to make anyone feel bad!!!!!:flower3: It was a freak thing. Obviously, a normal 7 month pregnancy is going to have lots of movement. I've heard people claim not to know, but until this case I just thought their minds were blocking the truth!

Just a quick checkin before trying to put DS to bed.

I am still on cloud nine about having a little girl. All my tests today came back clear. The heartbeat was 152. Estimated weight was 9oz.

Hope everyone is having a good day too. I know someone else was having an ultrasound today , but I cant remember who?

Ann

Congrats Ann. I'm excited about my little girl, too. I want to find a princess dress for her 1st trip to WDW in July 2010! princess: And I can't wait to take her and her big sister to the castle for breakfast!

DH told me on the way home today..."looks like we are going to be taking our princess to the BBB in about 3 years!" I thought it was sweet.

I took all three of my little girls to the castle for breakfast once about three years ago. It really was THE best. If this one is a girl, her oldest sister is just going to have to humor me and go again.

During OUR first trip to WDW (yes, I was 33 before I ever experienced the magic), I took ds9 and dd6, and my mil (dh refused to go with us so mil came along). We had a great breakfast at the castle. It was such a magical experience. Ds9 wasn't impressed, but dd6 was in heaven! She loves the princesses, and doesn't seem to be outgrowing it. I hope she is still into it next summer at 10. Dh finally agreed to go with us to Orlando(we were going this summer, but we'll be a little busy so postponed a year). We are all going to do a day at the space center, then dh and ds (he'll be 13:crazy2: ) are going to spend an extra day there, while the girls go all out princess for the day in MK!

Do they have any great character meals for little boys? :)

I've finally got DH excited to take Lucas (we call him by his name, does that make us dorks?) to Walt Disney World... I think, though, that it helps that my brother lives in Orlando..

Congrats on your little girl! You've got one of each now, right? :)

Any of the character meals that aren't specific to the princesses are totally appropriate for the little guys!

No you aren't a dork! My little girl is Katie all the time now!

*Crystal Palace has the Pooh characters and good food.
*My kids LOVED Garden Grill-it was their favorite of our 1st trip and where ds9 had his 9th birthday. Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale were there.
*Donald and friends are at Tusker House in AK-haven't done that one but did the old one when it was dinosaur themed at Restaurantasaurus (sp?)
*MGM has one with newer characters that we haven't done.
*Chef Mickey's has great classic characters, and great desserts!
*We loved our breakfast with Lilo and Stitch at 'Ohana.
I'm sure there are plenty more.
:upsidedow Can you tell I like character meals?::yes::

we are really excited to try the 1900 Park Faire Happily Ever After Dinner ... my girls actually chose that over the Castle this time around ... they think it'll be fun to see the stepsisters and prince charming.
When we went 3 years ago we did the ALL PRINCESS tour ...castle, akershus (?) and even the sleeping beauty tea party...stood in line for ariel, etc.
DD1 was 3 1/2 and soooooooooooooo into princesses...we had tinkerbell visit EVERY night with a gift ... gown, light spinners, princess pjs, tee shirts, sunglasses, etc.. we saved a BUNDLE on souveniers this way...then Tink sent a snowglobe of herself home to our house w/ a note thanking them for visiting.
I had so much fun planning that trip!!!
This trip ... I am a little stressed b/c baby will only be 2.5 months...DD2 is not so into princesses so we have scheduled different things like Hoop De Doo and figure we will do the carriage ride...wonderland tea party...chef mickey ..1900 Park Faire... mmmm, cant remember what else I will have to look..
Has anyone done the kitchen sink ice cream thing? i read about that while DISing and also the Disney Toy Store downtown where you can fill a box of my little pony parts that turn them into princesses for like $20 all you can fit?? I think she would like those two things...
Hoping we can fit it all in w/ bambino...and the fact that I am in a wedding which will take up a couple days...and its EASTER...yikes...I am trying to take a more laid back approach and not plan as much...but it feels like I should plan MORE b/c it will be so crowded over the holiday and there are now 3 kids to consider.....

We have many, many pony princess accessories here from our last trip. They are still quite beloved here.

OHhh.. you're taking her when she'll only be a few months old?? Let me know how that goes!

I was thinking of popping down when Lucas would be about that age.. with the military tickets, bunking with my brother, etc.. we could hit the world for the cost of my ticket only ($99!)... and flights.
And, of course, my brother would get to spend some quality time with his nephew! :)

That one sounds like fun. I hear the stepsisters are hilarious!

DECEMBER, I was reading your post on another thread about carpal tunnel. I had it in both wrist when I was pregnant with DS, it got unbearable after he was born. I went to the Dr. about a month after he was born and was told it is extremely common. I got cortisone shots in both wrist and never had the problem since then... BUT, I am starting to feel it again in my left wrist with this pregnancy. Just wanted to say, "I feel your pain with the carpal tunnel symtoms."

I thought I was going crazy with my 1st pregnancy. Everyone kept telling me I'd stop throwing up, start feeling better, etc. But I never did! It was like I was stuck in the 1st trimester the whole time. Then when I started having problems with my hands and wrists, and couldn't pick up a large glass of tea by myself, I really think people thought I was exaggerating. I remember telling the dr about it, and he immediately said "you have carpal tunnel." It felt so good to have a diagnosis! Luckily, it went away on its own after he was born, and I didn't get it with dd9. I'm really hoping I don't have a bout of it this time either.

Dd9 celebrated her 8th birthday at 1900-it was an awesome meal! (Garden Grill was our favorite of our 1st trip, 1900 of our 2nd). The stepsisters were so much fun. One even got her up in front of the restaurant for a skit. And when she grabbed the stepmother and hugged her, the look on her face was priceless. The waitress was laughing, and said no one had ever hugged the stepmother before!

Hi Disney Ron! :wave2: That was me that had the u/s yesterday. And this baby did cooperate and announcing...ITS a BOY!! Okay, what do i do with a boy? I hear they are easy to raise but its still new and unchartered territory for me!:) His approximate weight was 8 oz. and the heartbeat was 153. Everything looked excellent and as a bonus, my DH had time before he had to go back to work so after the appt. we ran to Target to see if they had the Sit n Stand stroller at 75% and YES! they did! It was regularly 169.99 and I got it for $42. something. Woo hoo!!! It was a great day! This second pregnancy hasn't been nearly as exciting as the first but now I have something to get excited about.

Poor DH though, he's home with the cold!

We went this past weekend to look at minivans since we are going to have to have a bigger vehicle. Anybody have a newer model Kia Sedona or the Hyundai Odyssey? We test drove the Toyota Sienna and liked it but the price tag is a little steep for us. The Honda Entourage is comparable to it but even a little pricier! :scared:

I thought I was sooo lucky, not sick at all, hardly even feeling pg. But at 8 weeks m/s kicked in with a vengenance.:crazy2:

This morning I've been tossing my cookies something fierce. I'm just hoping that it passes by the time my 5 year old gets home from K, around lunchtime.

pirate: Congratulations on your little boy!!!!!pirate:

As far as what to do with a little boy, it will come naturally! My DS loves to snuggle. He is wonderful. I think you and I are very blessed to be having one of each!

We looked at the Odyssey. I think they are nice for the money. DH swears by his Hyundia. They are getting really good rating now.

I'm sorry! I hope you are better by then too. For the longest time, I was just having headaches and nausea in the evening but for the past few days it's gone back to 'round the clock just like with my other pregnancies. This morning, I'm actually OK and keeping my fingers crossed that it will stay that way. I'm in my second trimester now, but my body just doesn't seem to believe that yet.
