Newest "Moms to Be" Thread

My craving for Strawberry Cheesecake got me in trouble today..

I stopped at Kroger to get one of those Jello No-Bake kits to make one and someone hit my car in the parking lot!!

I spent my afternoon standing in the rain waiting on the police. Lame!!

Bummer!!! After we found out we were expecting twins, my hubby ran out and traded in our car for a new minivan.. TWO DAYS later I was going grocery shopping with my kids, and some STUPID TEENAGER hit my van. HARD. He was trying to race around a bus, and didnt a gigantic VAN right there. Man.. was that kid lucky that my husband wasnt there..

How was the cheesecake? ;)

Wow. I guess I need to be more careful. I'm glad no one was hurt...

Oh yeah! It did almost no damage to our car.. but totaled his little pimped out race car type thingy. I had a scratch on the side of the van. And thats it. My husband thought I did it on purpose... Because I HATED that we had to buy a minivan. :lmao:

:lmao: :rotfl: I understand! We bought a small SUV, but we're going to regret it if I'm having twins.

My babycenter email said I might start felling nauseous today, but that it usually starts in the coming weeks. HA! I've been nauseous since the first week at least! I know sometimes women with twins feel this more, so I keep thinking maybe that's why, or this baby better have a ton of hair!

i had heartburn just even drinking water

My doctor told me if you put ice in your water you're likely to get heartburn.
The cold reacts with the warm stomache acid and up it goes.

She suggested milk, warm tea, etc. NOT water! :confused3

You poor thing!! I take it you're doing fine? Was it a hit and run?

And most important---Did you get your cheesecake fix?! ;)

Uh, no. Not a hit and run. Oddly enough they stayed in the spot. With a dent in my car and a dent in theirs. My car is black, theirs was white. There was white paint on my car.
Let me guess here... who could have done it?!

It wasn't hard to figure out. I went in, bought the cheesecake, and was back out within 15 minutes. It would have been easy to prove I wasn't there long as my receipt had a timestamp and I'd come straight from work which is a half hour away... and they would have vouched as to what time I left.
I seriously doubt two people came and went in the time I was in the store. And when they finally came back out they had a cart full of groceries and the wife starts yelling at her husband "I knew it, you hit her car!" :scared1:
She was a peach. :scared:
Luckily the police officer was on the same page as me... he saw them come out and saw the way she acted.

...the cheesecake is sitting in the fridge and I can't wait for a delicious slice later!!!

Sarah,

I just noticed your ticker is exactly where mine was when I put one up.
I can't believe that, it seems like it was SO long ago!!

I tell ya.. I CRIED at the dealership. Seriously. Full on ugly crying. :sad2: It was embarrassing. For my husband. :lmao: I didnt care.

I had no idea that I was pregnant with twins until my first ultrasound.. This is your first pregnancy, right? It seems like on my twins board, the first time moms have a MUCH easier time with their pregnancies, then the ones that have other kids.

I am SO miserable.. I went grocery shopping today, and only made it halfway through the store before I couldnt handle the braxton hicks any more and had to leave. I cried all the way home because I feel so useless. What kind of mom am I? I cant even feed my family. :sad2: And when I walk around, I seriously feel like the bottom of my belly is just going to rip open and babies are going to fall out. Oy. I know.. Im so pleasant. :lmao: Its been a rough day..:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Thanks for the intro there--"most first timer twins aren't as bad...I feel horrible!" :thumbsup2 :lmao:

Have you tried one of those pregnancy belt things? Don't mind me, I'm totally clueless...

:lmao: Yeah.. I have ordered one. Just waiting for it to get here. My Dr. thinks it will help out. I hope so.. Pretty soon my belly is going to need its own cart. :rotfl2:

I've heard that they are essential, especially for multiples. I hope it helps!

Sorry to hear the rough times with the heart burns, car accidents, etc. I've been suffering majorly with headaches. Yesterday I was seriously considering going to the hospital. I had a headache since Saturday and it was bad! Luckily it went away by last night. I was taking Tylenol but was afraid to take too many. Anyone else have headache trouble? I'm hoping it's just the hormones.

I had really bad headaches starting just after my morning sickness quit. They lasted about a month and were horrible! My doctor told me it was safe to take Excedrin Tension, but I never did. I don't drink any caffeine while I am pregnant or nursing, so the amount in the pills seemed very high to me. I would take Tylenol and drink a cup of regular tea to help with the headaches.

Darn pregnancy hormones!

Well, that's me too! My morning sickness just quit last week. I did, however, have headaches before that but they weren't this bad.

How is your blood pressure? That can cause headaches as well. I was getting bad ones for a while, but they pretty much gone away now. Im guessing hormones too.

Hi everyone!

How is everyone feeling? I have had a good couple of days with limited nausea. I cant wait to go to the Dr on 12/10, it seems so far away. I just want to hear the little heartbeat.

So what are everyone's cravings? Mine have been wonton soup, and cheesecake...both have been satisfied to date!

Still nauseous here. It comes and goes. I'm worried about the headaches that could be around the bend for me as I had been getting menstrual migraines for about the last year or so.

How far along are you? I'm going to the Dr next Wednesday for my first appointment. I can't wait!

I haven't had any really strong cravings. Little things here and there, but nothing I couldn't ignore.

I have a question. I know we're supposed to avoid deli meats, but does that include cheese too? I don't know if I can survive on PB&Js for the next 8 months.

You only have to avoid soft cheeses.

I'm still throwing up daily at 15 wks. Once a day is a good day, but usually more than that. I'm not craving anything, and make myself eat. The dr told me yesterday that everything looks great, and maybe that is just normal for me. I did the same thing with my older kids, especially my son. I'm really hoping to be hungry on Thanksgiving, and not throw it up! I have my next appt to find out the baby's sex (hopefully!) on Dec 23-just in time for Christmas!

About 9 weeks.

Like the PP said avoid soft cheese like blue, feta, anything that you question if it has been pastaurized, avoid.
