Hi, I have watched these boards off and on for awhile but have never posted until now. I have many questions to ask, and I know you guys can help me so here goes. I have read about the AAA discounts. I went to their website and found rates that are better than the ones on Disneyworld.com. Are those the AAA rates everyone is talking about or are there better rates once I become a member? The way it looks to me, it is well worth the $60 per year just in this trip savings. What do you guys think? Also, we (me, DH, DD 5 yrs and DS 2 yrs) are travelling in Feb. with some friends--3 adults and a 3 year old. We are thinking of either a 2 br villa at OKW or 3 rooms at an all-star or 2 connecting rooms at a cheaper deluxe. Does anyone have any recommendations? OK, that's it for now. Thanks in advance
Karla

Well in order to get the AAA discounts you have to be an AAA member. You are required to show your AAA card at check-in

As far as the room basically it's what you can afford and what fits your style. A villa would be great for a bunch of people because you get a kitchenette and a lot of room so you could cook some meals if you choose.

Welcome to the DIS. I would say that if you are thinking of renting a villa then check out the DVC rent board. Renting points from an existing member is A LOT cheaper than paying for those rooms direct from Disney! :flower:

I agree wit MYSTERIA.Welcome to the DIS  :Pinkbounc

The AAA rates you see are the AAA rates you get. There are a few other perks, such as diamond parking, and access to a lounge in the MK.

I love my AAA membership, and find it well worth the money for towing, free maps and tour books, and other assorted discounts.

I have booked under the AAA discount for December, which will save my group about $900.

If a discount code comes out, it may be better than the AAA discount, but I still don't begrudge AAA the membership fee for their other services.

Thanks for all of the replies. There is so much info on these boards. I know you are going to save me some serious $$$. I have thought of a few more questions. If I book at the AAA rate then a more discounted rate comes along, can I change? Also, if we book 2 or 3 rooms can we just have one AAA membership or one for each room? That may sound like a silly question, but I am just trying to cover all my bases. Thanks again!! Karla

You can book up to 3 rooms at the AAA rate per membership during the same time period.

Per CRO some discount codes can be added if the discount is available in the resort and category of room you booked.

Outside of Disney's 45 day cancellation period, you can change pretty much anything you have. Inside of 45 days, there may be a change or cancellation fee.

You have received good replies already. So I'll just add:

WELCOME! :flower:

Welcome to the disboards! Sometimes you just have to check what discounts are out there for your timeframe and then check with AAA to see what they have to offer and then see what's the better deal. I've never found AAA to be necessary to get a good deal. I've found the absolute best deal is to rent points from a dvc member. I've rented numerous times and am amazed at how much money I've saved.

Hi, I'm new to the Dis and just read your post regarding AAA. I would like to know more about the Diamond parking and the Lounge. Thanks, usewickhouse
