Hello all!

I'm new here and I have a ton of questions! I'm looking to book an Oct/Nov 10 WDW vacation at the Wilderness Lodge. I'm trying to get my answers from previous posts, but it's so overwhelming here! There's so much great info, but also so many areas I don't know where to look first!

Should I ask my q's here or in specific places? Like, with my family (4 plus infant) would it be better to do the free dining? Or the 40% monster pin? It's not possible to combine them, is it? Is it cheaper to book a Mon-Fri/Sat than Fri-Mon/Tues?

In Nov 2009 I booked 1 night at Wilderness Lodge (LOVED it! That's why I want to stay longer this time!) and there was a calendar on the website with the color coded dates and rates. I'm trying to find an easy way to see when the best deal is. Our dates are pretty flexible.

Thanks in advance for all the help! I'm looking forward to learning so much here!

You will get the most and best answers by posting them in the individual forums that are most appropriate for the question.

We have a Codes and Rates forum within our Resorts Forum that can help you out with your questions on which deal is best for you.

Welcome and we are glad you are here! :)

First and foremost, WELCOME to the boards!

Yes, there is lots of info available here - just keep on searching. There's a search feature at the top of the page. May be a bit quicker than scrolling through all the boards. But that's fun too!

Hope you enjoy your planning :goodvibes

:welcome: to the DIS.

I will answer what I can.

1. I'll be there the first of Oct - maybe we'll bump into each other!
2. Do you have the monster pin? If so, call and get a quote.
3. Free dining has not been released beyond Oct 2. If you check in before Oct 2 you can get free dining for the length of your stay. Again, call to get a quote. No way to know the better deal without looking at the numbers.
4. Cannot combine discounts.
5. While it's not a calendar, this link to Mousesavers.com will show you full price rates by 'seasons' which is a range of dates. Looks like WL is the same price in Oct/Nov regardless of weekday/weekend.

Have fun planning! :wizard:

Just a note about the Monster pin code - The monster code is date specific with some dates blacked out so make sure your dates coincide with the dates on the offer before trying to book.

The room discount is a better deal than free dining because you are staying at a deluxe resort. If you were staying at a value resort the free dining would be a better discount. If you've got the discount code, then I would go ahead and book know. Also, you need to go ahead and book your dining reservations. Some of the popular places and character meals will already be booking up.

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone! I'm really excited.

I've been a bunch of times to WDW as a kid, then got engaged there in 2003, went back in 2004 with DH (both times stayed out of the park). We took my son when he was 2 1/2 and my daughter was 2 1/2 months for a 2 day, 1 night trip (stayed at All Star Music.) Last year in Nov, during an impromptu trip to Florida, we went again for 2 days 1 night to WL. So I'm really excited at going for a little longer and actually enjoying the resort. I was so in love with WL! I think we'll plan a day to just enjoy the resort.

My son, now 4.5, is a huge Harry Potter fan, so we might do a day at universal. Has anyone been there yet this spring?

I believe you will want to refer to the Universal section of these boards for answers to the Harry Potter question. There are several threads on this subject over there.
