Hi all...

Looking to buy into the DVC but have a few questions...

1. Is it best to go direct via the DVC or a re-seller..where do you get the best deal?

2. How many points are the rooms at the Euro Disney location..

3. How many points for a room in London, UK...

4. What is the average maintaince fee...

Thanks for taking the time to read...

First of all Welcome to the DIS!

You may want to start by checking out the DVC FAQ by going to http://www.wdwinfo.com/disney-vacation-club/faq.shtml

It depends! Do you care which resort you buy at? Do you want the longer contract at SSR? How many points do you want? Do you need financing?
I think everyone would agree that you can save money by purchasing thru resale, but the savings can be influenced by many factors.

2. How many points are the rooms at the Euro Disney location..

Most would say that using DVC points to stay at non-DVC locations is not a good use of points. The point requirement for these stays is pretty high. For instance to stay at the DL Hotel in Paris, you'd be looking at 65-94 points per night (depending on season and day of the week). Disney's Hotel New York in Paris is 46-64 pts per night. Disney's Newport Bay Club is 44-58 pts per night. Disneys Sequoia Lodge is 39-55 pts per night.

3. How many points for a room in London, UK...

Using the World Passport Collection could range from 124-160 pts for a 1-br or 207-270 pts for 2-br per week. I'm not too familiar with this, but I think there are other fees and costs associated in addition to points. In the concierge collection at The Dorchester, you'd be looking at about 93-99 pts per night

4. What is the average maintaince fee...

They range from 3.82 to 4.87 per point.

One advantage though to the Disneyland Paris resort is that it includes Park Admission. (BTW, they changed the name from EuroDisney to Disneyland Paris years ago. :goodvibes )

From the Vacation Planner booklet:
"Reservation Points listed include admission to Disneyland Paris and Walt Disney Studios Park for the length of the stay for the number of registered Guests up to the maximum number of Guests, permitted in the accommodations.

So if you stayed Sun-Thurs in Sequoia Lodge for 39 pts/night, and saved perhaps $100 for two people/day on park tickets, then the higher point cost may be something to consider.

Keep in mind that there is no guarantee they will include free tickets at DL Paris in the future, but so far they have done this every year since they originally build the Paris Theme park.
