Newbie: Wedding and Honeymoon Questions

Hello, this is my 1st post on these boards. I've been reading some things and ya'll are wonderful.

My fiancee and I had a set in stone plan to be married here (Louisiana). We really just want to get away from the family b.s. We always planned on honeymooning in Disney, but now we're looking at an option of a wedding there too! We have about $5K. Can I do a wedding and a honeymoon? Any helpful websites?

I think you can do it for $5K, however you will have to have a Intimate Wedding with 20 people or less (including yourself). Custom weddings have a $10,000 minimum. Intimates do have a set package to purchase for around $2350 (without hotel or park tickets). This comes with the site (Wedding Pavillion is more) and flowers, cake, etc. They do still let you pick which flowers and flavour of cake, but it is more structured than the custom. The price also does not include dinner afterwards, so keep that in mind.
I think you can do it for $5k and still have a beautiful wedding!

No it doesn't include the resort, park tickets, etc. and you must spend 4 nites at a Disney moderate or deluxe resort. All food will be extra as well. Also, the intimate package no longer includes the officiant which will run you about $200.

Good luck planning!! You may want to check into an offsite wedding (some here have been married at Leu Gardens which seems beautiful in pictures) and then splurge on a great honeymoon at Disney!

I think you can do it on $5k...

For my intimate this past September, we stayed concierge deluxe at the Boardwalk (5 days/4 nights - arrive on Monday, depart on Friday) and had our wedding and honeymoon. And we paid "rack rate" for the rooms.

Our TOTAL cost was just over $6k...and that included air fare, kenneling for our three dogs, and everything else....

Our package DID include the room and tickets, so that was a bit different. But, you can try to get a room through AAA, or even maybe rent DVC points for one of the deluxe resorts (like BWV) to get a better rate on the rooms. Check out the Disney Resort board and ask about how to get the best discounts on rooms.

Once you do that, and coordinate the ticket options, I think you can easily do an intimate wedding for that price.

With the standard "rack-rate" intimate, you will have fewer choices on certain things, but that did not diminish the magic for us at all!! Disney does LOTS AND LOTS of weddings, and their planners know their stuff! You can get lots of advice and ideas here and talk to your EM (when you get assigned to one) and they will help you figure out your options!

You will have to book your rooms BEFORE you can book with Disney Fairy Tale weddings. Definitely visit the website and look over the intimate options...

Hi and welcome. I am doing an Intimate wedding and it's going to cost about $6-$7K(including Tickets and Rooms) but don't worry you can do a Wedding for $5K or less. Talk to DFTW and ask about all your options.

If you want to keep your price to under $5k, like we did, I would even suggest looking into doing a Swan Wedding, like we did. Its a way to have everything you want (the ceremony, reception, dinner, etc) for a great price, while still being able to have it at Disney. Our problem was we wanted a Disney wedding and reception, however since we were on a budget of $5k and Disney couldnt do both for that price, we went with the Swan wedding and were able to customize it how ever we wanted.
