New to this site and have been searching for Sheraton Vistana info. Booking a two bedroom for a week through a travel agency, and traveling with DW and 2 older teenagers. Will I get daily room cleaning? or is it mid-week? Can i request a specific area and/or building? Does the bedroom windows look out on the corridor or have a view? Are all the buildings and different areas renovated? or will there be construction noise during our visit? (Last 2 weeks of August.) Any specific area I should request? Thank you.

We always just get a mid-week tidy. Nothing daily. If you're booking a daily rate, you may get service. If it matters, your TA should be able to tell you.

There are no corridors in the sections I've stayed in, but you might face the parking lot. Usually the master faces a lake or something and the second bedroom the parking and driveway.

Most if not all sections were recently renovated.

As per PP, both are available when booking through a travel agent. Check to see which you have.

You can request this for timeshare exchanges, and probably for hotel type stays as well. Contact the resort about 2 weeks prior. There is an online form available at https://www.mystarcentral.com/services/diamond.jsp?propertyId=01&IM=SVO_RC_DIA_SVR that allows you to make special requests. I would say that it is probably not necessary to do so. There really are no bad sections at the resort and renovations are nearly complete.

Almost all units have water views (small ponds) from the living room side and the master usually looks out that side too (there are quite a few floor plans). There are a several buildings in Fountains II that have views of the I-4 off ramp. Courts units overlook green space. All units face towards the roads and parking areas, but that is generally the door and kitchen window and sometimes the 2nd bedroom.

Renovations will still be ongoing in Courts in August (due to end in Sept.) We were about a block away from the cordoned off area in March and never heard anything more than a forklift passing a couple of times. By August I am sure that the last non-renovated units will be closed, so there should be no chance of getting an unrenovated unit. The updates are really nice!

Hope you have a great time!

I recently returned from the Vistana. We had a great stay. I didn't notice a lot of renovation but there was some across from the Marketplace. We were in the Lakes section and it was very quiet. I requested a room with elevator access or ground floor for my mom who has some difficulty walking. They put us in the Lakes with an elevator very close to the pool but in a quiet location - mom loved it. I used the diamond lane check in form to submit my request online. It was very easy.

We also used the Marketplace for groceries - a bit pricey but not too bad for what we wanted and enjoyed nachos at Zimmies. We also spent time at the Fountains pool and Fountains fitness center.

I would definitely book the Lakes section again - it was very quiet.:)

Also we booked through hotwire and had daily housekeeping.

Now another question, with older kids should I stay at Sheraton Vistana Village near Sea World, or Sheraton Resort closer to Disney. We will be doing all the major theme parks. Is the Sheraton Vistana Village also newly renovated? Nothing worse than a dark dreary room.

We last stayed at the Villages about 3 years ago. It has some new construction going on, so some units are very new. But the oldest sections have not been updated recently and I hear some are now in need. We were in building 10 and were happy with the layout, decor, and cleanliness.

My kids (now 12 and 14) prefer Vistana Resort as there is more to do; more pools and activities. Actually, I think as they get older they'll like it even more as there is more space for the them to get away from the adults (or each other), and more kids to meet at the bigger resort. Of course there may be some prejudice as we own a week at SVR.

As far as seeing the parks, the two resorts are very close to each other, so there is minimal advantage to either. SVR is closer to the Disney Parks, SVV is closer to SeaWorld and Universal, but we are talking about a 5 minute advantage to each.

Enjoy your visit.
