Hi all,

I've been to Disney several times for single day trips, but in about three weeks my family and I will be going for out first week long stay. (Yippee!!!) I've got a couple questions about transportation.

We're staying at All Star Movies and on Sunday have 7:40 AM ADR at Boma and on Monday have 7:30AM ADR at Chef Mickey's in the Contemporary. Is there enough time with when Disney transportation starts in the morning to get from ASM to Animal Kingdom Lodge and the Contemporary at 7:30 or 7:40?

Also, do I understand correctly that to get from ASM to Boma we'd need to catch a bus to the Transportation Center and then transfer to a bus going to the Animal Kingdom Lodge?

Thanks in advance for any insights. This website is an amazing resource for trying to figure out the ins and outs of Disney :-)

I hope not! That's a long way out of the way. Hopefully you can catch a bus to AK and transfer to AKL.

There are no buses to the TTC from the All-Stars, and that would be miles out of your way anyway. You'll want to transfer at AK.

Agree with Zippa D Doodah. Take a bus to AK and then another to AKL. If it's too early for you, or you want the convenience, or you don't mind paying a little bit.... take a cab from ASmo direct to AK. We took a cab from EPCOT to DTD and it cost us around $25. ASMo to AK would probably run you from $15 - $20. (see map here: http://www.wdwinfo.com/resortmaps/propertymap.htm) Afterwards feel free to take the bus to wherever you need to.
Also, you don't mention it, but if you're going to Chef Mickey's, you can take the bus to MK then either grab a monorail or simply walk over to the contemporary.
As an aside, we rode the busses quite a bit when we were there a couple of weeks ago. Busses to the parks come quite often but I never saw one to go to the TTC.

Welcome to the DIS, Marti!

I'm going to move this over to our transportation board for you. I'm sure that the folks over there will have additional input.

Buses start running for Character Breakfast access around 6:30, but less frequently than when the parks are opening/open - about every half hour, so you're going to want to plan accordingly.

When you board each bus - MK-bound for Chef Mickey's and AKL-bound for Boma - ask the respective drivers what the best way is to get to your actual destination. They may direct you to the correct bus stop (or in the case of CM's, to the walking path to the Contemporary) or, one or both may be able to actually take you to the correct resort.
