Newbie resort hopping

We are staying at sports and would like to hop over to AOA on our arrival day since my 4yr is a cars fan. We would then head to disney springs for dinner.

Taking the bus, we would have to go to disney springs or one of the parks and change buses to get to AOA right? Should we just take the first bus that arrives or should we wait for a certain park which is geographically closer to minimize our transit time? Having no experience with the bus I figured I'd ask in case I was over thinking things.

If I as resort hopping somewhere not adjacent to a park, I would take a taxi.

Sports is sort of close to AK, so you could take a bus there, and transfer to the AoA bus. Or, you could take the bus to either Epcot or DHS, then transfer to the AoA bus there...those parks are fairly close to AoA.
Or, if you don't want to spend the time riding around WDW, just take a cab directly from ASSports to AoA.

In an ideal world I would taxi but both my kids would need car seats. I would rather avoid that if possible.

We have resort hopped many times using Disney transportation, just takes a lot longer. My kids like riding the bus as much as riding Peter Pan! To get to AoA from sports I'd find the park that is closest and go there to get the AoA bus. Then take the Disney springs bus from AoA for dinner and get your own bus home!
