Newbie res question

Yesterday was my first day as a member and because I had banked points from 2013 I booked both April and October trips. I still have 109 points from 2014 plus all of 2015 to borrow.

Question is? If I have the chance to change one or both reservations to Poly or to BLT (we would love the monorail with two little ones) when the appropriate windows open should I cancel and book or book then cancel and how will it effect my banked and or borrowed points.
Just to clarify I have '13/160, '14/160, '15/160

What's your use year?

Banking and borrowing are final transactions; the points can't be move to a different year once they've been moved once by banking or borrowing them.

Welcome Home! I wouldn't borrow points if it is for a temporary move only as borrowing, like banking points is a permanent transaction. Once you move points to a different UY they stay in that UY and expire with that UY if you don't use them by the end of the UY.

I would get member services (MS) help on this one at the 7 month mark. I would ask them if they could hold the reservation at either PVB or BLT and then cancel your current reservation and use those points in the new reservation and if necessary borrow any points to complete the new reservation. There is a great debate as to whether MS can hold reservations here on the DisBoards. So I don't really know if that will work. But I would still rather get their help on something like that.

For you to book the reservation, you would need to cancel your current reservation and then hope that no one took the dates of the new reservation and then use your points for the new reservation. If you do not have enough points for the new reservation the online system will tell you and allow you to borrow the number of points to complete the reservation you are trying to book.
