Ok, as I have stated on other posts, we are giving up Disney and doing just Universal this year. Long story short....we had a much better time on our 3 days at Universal then our 9 at Disney this past trip. So here we are planning our trip for 2014. Already booked RPR for 9 nights in October. Now the many questions....
First, as an annual Disney traveler am looking forward to not having to plan all my meals 6 month in advance. I know that I am seeing that a lot of places do take reservations, Do you NEED to make some reservations at certain places? Which ones? I know we want to do some, so would hate to get there and find out we should have made reservations months ago.

What is the best, or any crowd calendar that people use here?

Any other advice?

I don't think you really need to make reservations for October. Some nights will be busy because of HHN but the days really aren't.

You could make reservations for Mythos a couple of weeks in advance if you want, but even then, with 9 days there, you should be able to easily eat everywhere!

Thanks, that is what I was hoping to hear. Just want a VACATION for once that we can just go and eat when and where we want to at the time. Thanks

i love going in october for long stays onsite.

for the 11 days on this next october trip, i'm not making any restaurant ressies.

you'll be fine with last minute decisions on where to eat.

I will be going in Sep. 2014 and was advised that it is going to be very busy wiht the HP Expansion opening that summer.

I'm also planning a trip for sept/ oct 2014, I'm pretty sure anytime you go after the expansion will be busy, that hour early for resort guest really pays off, I hope they still will have that going next year.

I wouldn't be surprised to see it in both parks permanently after HP2 opens.

Staying onsite puts you at an advantage for dining as well. You will get priority seating which puts you ahead of the walk-ups.
