Newbie Questions

New to Socal and of course I had to get a Socal AP and get all the DL I can handle. My first time was in April, and have now have gone 5 times (I like to go after work on weekdays as I work 15 in away and can get in a few hours of relative non craziness).

Any who, I have the whole FP thing down (when bf and I go in the mornings, we have our routine down on which rides we catch right away and which we get FP for) but I just wanted to be clear on one thing: if I get a fastpass it is good for the hour it gives you of course, but will it be accepted the rest of the day universally, or is it up to the CM?

Also, where is a good place to be to see Tink in the fireworks show? I saw it a few weeks ago from the AP processing area since it was right after Fantastmic and there were no spots, so I saw only the fireworks, not the castle part. What time should we look to get a spot to see the castle parts?

And, lastly, this is for anyone really who went today or knows, but do we know when the FP for Star Tours are going to be working? My bf and I were thinking about going tomorrow morning to catch it (we are going to be blacked out soon, and I have been waiting for ST to open), but I weary of going when there is no FP. I don't mind waiting for an hour, but more than that and I think I would rather go another day when the FP is up.

Don't know the answer to the others, but I do know you can use a FP any time after the return time. We have done this many times.

Thanks! I've been lurking for a few weeks, ever since I went the first time to know all the tricks and secrets and now that the new rides, parades, and such are open, I'm on here all the time!

Oh and I forgot my other question! Does anyone still climb the Matterhorn? I think I saw that Mickey doesn't do it anymore, but do the climbers still go up? I would love to see this!

Hmm... come to think of it, I didn't see anyone doing that last few trips (summer and Nov). But I don't know if they stopped altogether or if I just missed it.

Glad you came out of "lurkdom". Wish I could drop by after work. Knowing me, I wouldn't be happy with a Socal AP, I'd want the one with NO black out days! (I have delux now)

Well, it may be a blessing and a curse! I initially got the Socal AP because I thought I would like it, but wouldn't want to be there all the time. I was wrong and I can't stop going back now, especially now that I have ridden almost everything and can enjoy more of the nuances and little things that you miss when you are just on a mission to do it all. Plus going after work usually means dinner there, so I'm putting plenty of money into my trips.

But again, I can't resist the lure, and every time I go, I feel like a kid again, not a 26 year old woman. And I may have to upgrade for next year or something, and for sure when I have kids. I just can't wait to take me own to share the magic!
