Newbie Question re Reservations

I am wondering, can I as a non-DVC member check availabilty in order to calculate the number of points needed? I am planning to buy points for an upcoming vacation, but we are somewhat flexible on dates. Also, not knowing if preferred views vs. standard views are available would make the point requirement change. These things make it hard to know, for instance, if I can try to pursue if someone has, say, 100 points, available. I don't know if I need more than 100 or not.

...or do I just have to pursue it, give the seller/member our preferences, and they have to call and check the availability themselves?

That should help you for this year. Next year the difference will typically be spring break/Easter, holidays and such and typically the remainder of the year stays in the same season.

Sorry forgot to answer the second part of your question. As far as availability, only a DVC member can check that, but at least you will know the number of points required.
