I have been going to Disney for many years. I even rented points from someone on these boards (Doc, :confused3 ) many years ago and stayed at OKW. I finally decided to take the plunge and we are buying 200 points at AKL. I attend the pin event every year in Sept. so I am using 92 points to stay at the Boardwalk. I wanted a standard view, but they were all sold out. I wanted to stay at an Epcot resort as the pin event is at Epcot.

I am now planning another trip for the last week of January. Many factors are going into the planning of this trip. My nephew, who is in Iraq, will be home and taking my niece and their 3 children to WDW the last week of January. They are staying at the Poly or GF. We don't want to stay with them (or near them) as they will need family alone time. We are taking my mother for "her last trip to WDW". I say that tongue in cheek, because the last 3 times we have gone with her have been "her last trip to WDW" according to her. But she just turned 80, so it just might be. We are also taking my 3 nephews (My mom lives with my DB and he has 5 children) So, we are going to rent a two bedroom place. We are trying to rent at the Boardwalk as we figure the boys (12, 14 & 16) can wander down to the arcade and over to the parks without us every minute of the day. Also, my Mom & I can sit on the boardwalk at night and people watch. She loves the Jersey shore (she worked in Cape May for 10 years) so she is excited about staying here.

My question, I will not have enough points so I will have to borrow them from next year. Does it make sense to buy them from someone on the boards and have them transfer them to my account or borrow from next year? What are my chances of getting a two bedroom place at the boardwalk? Does anyone have any advice on how I can put this together?

Thanks so very much. Penny:hippie:

If it were me, I'd just borrow the points I needed. You'll need to call to make the reservation as soon as the 7 month window opens. That's really not much time to find someone to transfer you points, especially since you are new to DVC. You can worry about next year later -

If you are lucky, you might even be able to get a standard view - the last week of January is one of the easier times (relatively speaking) to get BWV SV if you call right at 7 months. So is September, but it sounds like you made the reservation well after the 7 month window opened, so that's why the SV rooms were sold out for your dates.

Congratulations and welcome home!

Thanks so much. I just downloaded the calendar plan that someone else developed and shared and figured out I only need 12 points. I am waitlisted for the parking lot view, so maybe I will get it and I won't need those 12 points. :rotfl: Also, Mom called tonight and said the boys might not get off from school that long so we may end up needing one or two less nights in a two bedroom. Thanks again, Penny :cloud9:
