Newbie Question: Free Dining?

Hey- planning my first vacay to Disney. We are staying for 4 nights/5 days in September at the DWL (woods view) and have the DXDP. I already have all my ADRs as well. Well, after reading and getting great advice on this board- I saw that in order to get the free dining- you have to wait to book after FD is announced. Would we have to cancel what we currently have and re-book. Would I be able to get FD and still keep my ADRS? Or- am I SOL. I would hate to loose everything I have done to plan our perfect in every way trip. Thanks in advance!

Your ADR's will be fine, you just need to call Disney and have them rebook your trip and usually they can link the ADR's. The resort and ADR are two different systems. You can link your resort reservation and your ADR's on the My Disney Experience website too.

Since you already have a package booked, if FD is offered, you will have to call to have your package modified. As long as your resort and room category and arrival date are included in the offer and there is availability you will qualify. Since only a limited number of rooms are included in any special offer it is best to call as soon as the special becomes available. If you already have any other discount on your package you will need to do the math to see which discount is best because Disney will not let you stack discounts.

For WL the FD offer has been the regular dining plan in the past. To upgrade to the DxDDP you will have to pay the difference between the regular DDP and the DxDDP.

If you booked the package yourself you can call Disney to make the modification. If a travel agent booked the package, you will have to let the TA know about the special and they will have to make the modification to your reservation.

Your ADRs will not be affected by any modifications to your package. Other than using your resort reservation to take advantage of the 180 + 10 when you booked your ADRs, the resort res and the ADRs are not linked.
