We are new DVC members and have reservations for this December at SSR in a 2BR - we are so excited! :cool1: After this trip we will have 2 banked points (we bought in at 300 points). Our UY is June. Can I book a trip for next December in January (that is our 11 months out) or do I have to wait until June when our 300 points come thru? To further complicate things we will probably be borrowing from the next year for that trip. Can that be done with only 2 banked points? I hope this is not too confusing??? :earsgirl:

P.S. I love this board. Y'all are so wonderful about giving out tips and insightful information to those of us who are new to DVC. Thanks!

Yes - you can call to make the reservation for December 2006 in January of 2006. Use year has nothing to do with when you may call to make the reservation. That is always 11 months prior to check out for a reservation at your home resort. You just have to have points that will be valid for your stay.

Since you have a June use year, a December 2006 trip falls within your 2006 use year (which runs from 6/1/2006 - 5/31/2007).

For your 12/2006 trip, you may use your 2006 points, points banked from 2005 (you say you have 2) and if necessary, you may borrow points from your 2007 use year as well.

HTH - post again if you need more info.

Best wishes -
