I have read some posts here, but unable to get definitive information about my questions. Please note that this is our first trip. We (my husband, myself, 4yr old daughter, 7yr old son)are staying at POP century and have QSDP.

Anyway, my son is somewhat picky, and we don't eat beef, so I need to plan our meals accordingly. I have somewhat short-listed some restaurants in the theme parks where we will be able to get some meals according to our liking - eg. Yak and Yeti at AK, Columbia House at MK etc.

What about snacks at theme parks? I don't always want to eat icecream, popcorn and chips....are there some ideas about substantial snacks to fend off the hunger between meals?

Please give some good ideas of snacks you think we should not miss.

There is a large sticky thread with all the 2010 snack options - I would start by looking there.

We just got back from Pop Century and it was our first time on the QSDP! We loved the dining plan-in fact it was actually too much food! We were able to treat ourselves to snacks that we probably wouldn't have bought on our own. The things available for a snack credit are almost limitless. For example, in EPCOT we got: french crepe, french pastry, norway pastry, slushies in america using snack credits. We also got amazing desserts at the Main Street Bakery in MK (cinnamon rolls, smoothies) for snack credits. My personal favorite was a chocolate cupcake we got at AK for a snack credit, it had an elephant figurine on top of it (the elephant was made of white chocolate). The frosting on the cupcake had coconut and was delicious!!!

Another great thing about the dining plan and Pop Century is that they let you get 1 pastry, 1 entree, and 1 drink as a breakfast counter service credit (technically, 1 breakfast counter service credit is 2 drinks and 1 entree). So, for breakfast I was getting chocolate chip pancakes with bacon and sausage plus a cherry turnover plus a large sized orange juice for only 1 QS credit!!!!!
There was so many other choice too: waffles, french toast, muffiins, etc...

IMO, the QSDP is worth its weight in gold. We had so much variety and ate so much GOOD food and I actually think that we would have spent more money paying out of pocket.

Wow, glad you gave wonderful review to QSDP at POP century resort. You have given me nice ideas for snacks to try. I am also going to look at the sticky thread of snack options. Thanks.

I agree completely! WE LOVE LOVE LOVE the QSDP! I really think that the quality of CS food is outstanding. Also, it includes the refillable mugs (we would drink from the refillable mug and get a bottled drink to take to the park for all of our resort meals!) I love that I can get anything from the menu (chicken and ribs at Cosmic Rays was fantastic! Flame Tree is beyond wonderful as is the POR food court.

If you get sick of POP food or don't want to go to a park one day; try out the food courts at the other resorts! There's some yummy stuff there! A lot of times it is food that goes with the theme of the resort (ie African at AKL, mexican at CSR...)
