Hello everyone.

First, I just want to admit that I've been a "lurker" for awhile, and you guys and gals are all great. You have so much helpful information and you're so nice, I figured I might as well throw my hat in and ask a few questions.

I am going down for 10 days in late October-early November. My DSO (would that be "Disney Signifcant Other"? - just trying to figure out the lingo) and I are playing in a sports tournament at WWOS. (Paintball, I think I saw someone else mention World Cup on the board.) Anyways, we've never stayed on site before, but have been to WDW plenty of times as kids and together once. After reading about all the great places and your comments I believe we have figured it out. We would like to split our time between POR and WL. Ideally we would want to stay at WL all the time, but that's a little pricey for our income.

Does this sound like a good idea? Is the switching process painless? What do you think of POR? We're gonna try for the "Mansion" section, (I can't think of the name right now) as we figured we would be getting "rustic" at WL.

Also, since we're gonna be there in late October we were thinking on doing MNSSHP. I hope I got that right. We're just two adults so would we have fun you think? I mean, we're going to Disney so we are big kids, but like I said, I'm just wondering if you would advise doing it.

Finally, are the water parks open at this time of year? We've got some left over passes with the plus options on them, and thought we would try to take advantage of them.

Sorry, for the long thread, but I just thought I would ask it all in one spot. Thanks for any responses you can give. For all of you who are going sooner than October, I have Mouse Envy. :)

Thanks again.

DW and I split our last stay between two resorts, and will probably do so again. It can be a pretty painless operation as Disney will move your luggage for you. Contact bell services and let them know when you are going to move. They will pick up your luggage in the morning and you can go out to the parks for the day. Later, check into the new resort and call bell services when you have your room. They will deliver your luggage to you at that time. All in all it's not hard to do and it makes it seem as if you are getting two vacations!

As far as the waterparks, they do close for refurbishment during the slower times of the year, but never both at the same time so you can be sure at least one will be open during your visit.

We don't have direct experience with MSSSHP (we've only seen the fireworks from the CR), but from other posts it seems fun for all ages. I'd say go and enjoy!

Sounds like a great plan to me!! POR and WL are my two favorite resorts:D It is also quite easy to switch resorts. You'll have a blast at the Halloween party, even if it's just the two of you :earsboy: And, one of the water parks will always be open, like wdwrich said.

Thanks for your responses to far, I truly appreciate it.

I've got another question: any good locations in POR to request? We're already in a king bed room, so I don't know if anyone has stayed in a king at POR and has a good area/room number to suggest, but if you do, please let me know.

Oh, one more thing: has anyone gone on the carriage ride at POR? Was it fun? I love horses and would love to do this, but would like feedback from anyone who has done it.

Thanks again.

No answers for you, just bumping....as I'd like to know about the carriage rides also??
