Newbie ? - How far out can you rent for 12/05?

Hi. Our anniversary is Dec 30 2005- 10 year. We are interested in renting points for three or four nights around that time. When should we start looking to do this? Is it too soon now?

It really is too soon to begin looking for a 12/2005 reservation. The soonest a member can make reservations is 11 months ahead of the desired check out date. For a December 2005 stay, that would be January 2005.

My advice is to start looking for an owner willing to rent in the November/December 2004 time frame. That will give you plenty of time to find an owner of the resort of your choice and also to agree on terms. It will also give the owner enough advance notice to book your room when the 11 month window opens.

You can book up to 11 months in advance...in this case, it would be January 2005. Because you are looking at a peak travel time, you almost have to book at the 11 month window, thus you probably need to start looking to rent in earlier January. This will allow you to secure the transaction with someone and get it booked. If you have a particular resort you want to stay at, you will have to make sure the points you are renting are "home" points to that resort.
