Newbie!!! Hi guys!

Hi everyone,

I have been on the DIS boards for a long time - I dont post too much, usually only about WDW vacation stuff. I have been dieting since February of this year and I have lost 40 lbs so far. Last year I joined WW and lost another 40 - so since Jan 04 I have lost about 80 lbs.

My main motivation is my 20th high school reunion this September and a 20th wedding anniversary trip to WDW in August. I still want to lose about 40 more pounds by then. I think I might get close, but not sure if I can do 40 lbs in 3 months. I try to only lose 2 or so pounds a week. I dont want to deprive myself!!

I had been walking at a local walking track (outside) and noticed I had plateaued (sp?). So I started doing WW exercise videos and Denise Austin videos - I could see physical changes, but not much change with my weight. I just got my "The Firm Transfirmer" package two days ago and I have only used it once - I could only do about 25 minutes of the Supercharged Sculpting video - it kicked my butt!!! I have never sweated like this before. So I hope this will jump start my weight loss again.

Does anyone else use the The Firm and if so what results have you had??? I am so glad I found somewhere to go for support in my weight loss. Since I have not rejoined WW this time - I find sometimes just a place to vent or to share success is really something I need!! :cheer2:

Boy, have you come to the right place! Scroll down a little bit in the WISH threads, and you'll find our monthly FIRM Thread! We've had this thread for maybe 1.5 years now, and we check in daily (or whenever we can!) to help each other stay motivated, offer advice and opinions and talk about exercise (and different exercise intstructors/vids) in general. It's really a fun way to stay accountable with your exercise commitments! We'd love to have you! :flower:

First of all, congratulations on losing 80 pounds. :cheer2: That's a huge accomplishment. You're right to keep the weight loss to about 2 lbs. a week. You may not lose 40 more pounds by August, but you'll be much healthier and fitter and that's so important.

As for the Firm, I've been Firming for about 13 months. It's done great things for my body. If you are consistent, you WILL get results. If it seems hard at first, just follow the "beginner" instructor and modify the exercises. As you get stronger and more fit, you will be able to add/increase weights and complete the workouts. Initially, it may actually slow down your weight loss because you will be building muscle, but you will be getting leaner and more compact. You might want to measure yourself now so you can see some measurable change if/when the scale slows its downward slide.

You have done an absolutely fabulous job so far. It seems that you realy know what you need to be doing to get yourself to your goal. You will certainly be an inspiration to many of us here and I look forward to hearing from you often.

I don't really follow the FIRM but I can say that those that do have rave things to say about it. I am sure the thread here will offer much advice.
