Newbie here with a question about new incentives

Okay, DH and I have been going back and forth for years about buying into DVC. I just finished reading the lengthy new incentive thread regarding Kidani and SSR. If I read correctly, if you buy Kidani now you get $8 discount = $96 per point, plus equal points for SSR for 1 year and 2008 and 2009 points in May 2009 and no dues until then. Is this correct?

The big question is this: We have a reservation beginning May 20 for 10 nights at AMu Suites. Do you think there is anyway possible (probably not) to get the contract for Kidani and book with the points at SSR within the next 6 weeks so we can use them instead of our ressie at the Suites? It is such short notice, but I figure we could use our resort money for the down payment on the Kidani contract and use the SSR points for our vacation. Is this possible? Thanks!

Just read that there are no studio available for the entire month of May. So that won't work, but still seems like this is a good deal to get the extra SSR points!

My understanding is that your 2008 points are in the form of the SSR stay, not in addition to that. In other words, since Kidani isn't available for occupancy yet you really don't have any 2008 points there. They are just giving you an equal set of points to use at SSR now so you are not without some 2008 points to use.

Why not ask your guide to check the system to see if there is a 1BR at SSR available when you need it, before committing to buy. He/she would have an extra incentive to try to help you hold the ressie!
