i have been reading these forums for years but just now registered because I have a question about a villa that I have rented. At this point I am out a booking deposit and I am having doubts about whether or not the owners are legitimate. I have tried searching other places so I thought I would see if anyone has ever stayed here and can give me an opinion. I would greatly appreciate it. It is the Serendipity villa in Indian Creek owned by Ken and Sarah Elder. Thanks in advance for any information. Kim Anderson

Hi!
What do you mean you are out by a booking deposit????

Once the deposit has been paid, this will secure your dates. Then final payment is usually due 10 weeks before arrival?

Has your deposit been acknowledged?

Regards,
Lynn

Sorry, I phrased that wrong. I meant all I have paid so far is the booking deposit. They have sent me a confirmation email but they seem to have a lot of problems with different things so I just wanted to know if anyone had every stayed there before. Thank you.

If you feel this way why don't you ask for your deposit back and book else where. I do not think you feel comfortable with these home owners for what ever reason and maybe you can find an owner that fits for you.
I have to tell you that as a home owner that is all I also do. I first send out a form that states the dates the guest are looking for and prive it would be for the dates. Then a contract/lease is sent out and a deposit to keep the dates open. Eight weeks before the total is due.
I try to keep in touch during the year and of course. If there are any up dates like something added to the home, any questions the guests have, or additional pictures of the home I drop them a line.
Good luck Deb

Thanks to spiceycat for the info. I found what I was looking for and I feel much better.

Now that you feel some what better drop them a line and ask questions you have about the house. Ask if the pics are update4d so you know what the home looks like and so on. I am sure everything will be fine. Have a wonderful vaca.
