Newbie from Scotland - first trip!

I didnt think it was all that hot, it rains every day at around 4 pm, that was more a bug bear than the rain.

we flew from newcastle last time and it was great.

Have you been at that time of year before to WDW? I have heard that it is extremely hot at that time of year? Not sure how we'll cope with the heat being from Scotland! lol

I am a bit nervous about this trip as it is the first trip I have organised by myself and have never been without my family before. So I've always had other people dealing with the major aspects of the holiday! Just little things worry me, like finding my way around the airports and catching the airport transfers etc. Silly things really!

This is the first time that we are going in July as my DS has just started school so I am now tied into their holidays. Easter was out of the question from the horror stories I have heard about crowd levels which just left me with the summer option.

I am worried about the heat but have been told to take it easy, drink lots of water and take breaks in the afternoon.

In my experience the parks and attractions have is sussed with regards to the heat of the summer. It's in their interest to ensure that it isn't unbearable as people would tend to stay away if it got too much for them.
As a result most, if not all, of the queueing areas are in the shade with misting fans and, in some cases, air conditioning.
Having rest days by the pool, planning meals so that you are indoors at the hottest times and drinking plenty of water are all good advice.

Hi Stacy

Welcome!

We have been visiting WDW since 1991 and have used both Glasgow and Edinburgh. We are in Wishaw so much the same distance to both airports. Enjoy your trip and ask as many questions as you like.
