Newbie: Can I do this?

We had booked our vacation and paid for it and realized that we booked an extra days admission to the park. We are at the Nick for the weekend and really don't think that we will be using this days admission. If we decide to not use it can I just give it to someone in line? I don't even know what the tickets look like but I thought it would be a waste if it's already paid for and we're not using it to just thow it out, KWIM.

It's a nice gesture but it won't work. Your tickets will be coded to you via biometric scan. When you insert the ticket at the turnstile, you will also insert your right index and middle fingers into the scanner. If the scan does not match previous scans for that ticket, entrance will be denied to the ticketholder. If it happens to the rightful ticket holder, then proof if ID which matches the signature on the backof the card will get you into the park anyway.

As the above poster said, it won't work because of the scanners. Just keep the ticket if you don't use it. Put it somewhere safe because it'll never expire. My in-laws still have passes from two years ago they will use on a future trip.

I'd rather have one day unused than be faced with a free day and no Disney to look forward to.

Thanks for the info. I was thinking that they were like little paper tickets that you hand in at the movies.

Actually they do expire now unless you paid the extra money to have them not expire

That's not the case unless the non-expiring option was specifically purchased. Otherwise, the tickets are good for 14 days from first use.

As other posters have said, the ticket cannot be transfered and will expire unless you pay the non-expiration fee.
If you decide that you will return to WDW in the future, it may be worth adding an extra couple of days and the non-expiration to the ticket during your trip. The new ticket system is set up so that you may add on extra days and features when at WDW. Plus, the more days you buy, the cheaper the admission. This may work out cheaper than buying new tickets on your next trip. If not, you lost a day's admission but with the new MYW system, hopefully it wasn't that much money.
